Rage Against the Yearbook Part 1 and 2 or Volume One

I decided to write about my high school senior yearbook and what it brings to me.It's a criticism and or commentary of my yearbook. Maybe a warning to younger readers of this site who aren't as popular. If you want to talk to me about it just send me a message.

Warning This column contains foul language, sexual commentary, and
I know I’ve spoke about this before but I am talk about it again

It's about the Hazleton Area High School yearbook and I think I should speak

of this again. Because most of this year's senior proably got their yearbook by

this time last year and are proably thinking the same way I did when I got mine

at this time last year. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. well that's a

little bit of an exaggaration becuase I'm sure the yearbook staff worked hard

on making the yearbook maybe harder than last year's staff. The problems I

have with mine are just either laughable or sad.

It starts off well enough an alma matter and our fight song which I

didn't think we had because I never heard it this so-called Fight Song. Maybe

it was heard at Pep Rallies when I was a freshman there with other people

hooting and hollering that our school sucks. While we saw cheerleaders doing

what looked like a Nazi salute with Anthony Eachus openly cheering it on.

Alright Michael, get back on the topic which is not the Nazi Cheerleaders of

Hazleton Pennsylvania. Okay, up next I see photos of Student Life which I see

an in depth analysis of the athletes and cheerleaders lives as they smile all day

showing brotherhood for a new generation of assholes who portray STUDENT

LIFE by smiling for the camera telling everyone else WE RULE and YOU

DON'T. rust me you'll be seeing alot of them later in my yearbook.

On the next page, We see THE CLASS OF YOUR YEAR HERE

in one group photo shot from the ceiling. We are all sitting on the fucking

bleachers in for many people one of the two photos they will have in this

entire yearbook. I think I found Waldo in our group photo , wait wait no That's

my friend Adam Gower right next to me looking at something to the left. This is

how you salute Four or Five years of our lives in one group photo. Also we

always have the DVD of our graduation which I will save for another time.

Anyway we got photos of Homecoming 2005 which is held in the

middle of October. It begins with a parade down to Tiananmen

Square involving the band , the cheerleaders, and floats with a couple of tanks to

which an unknown rebel will try to stop this from happening. In the middle of this

protest the Homecoming nominees were announced and the

game ended with a

win Coguars 41, Unknown Rebel 40 and a half ! Could

you imagine if they lost

that game what do you think they would put in that

column or wouldn't they

mention it at all? But anyway The Homecoming dance was

the next night where

they crowned Elizabeth Tedesco, who in my honest

opinion has a very beautiful

ass, you would have to see it to believe it and if you

had this book you are

gonna have many chances to see during the course of

this book, and some guy

were named Homecoming King and Queen. Boy was that a

memorable

weekend. One thing that shocked me is that Sandra

Curry went to this High

School my senior year. I had a crush on her in fourth

grade . I hope she doesn't

remember me.....at all. I would say more but I am

already off topic as it is.

So skip thorugh the portraits of

everyone and most people's second

photo. Here's a bit of commentary: "She was cute!" "

Boy I knew he was

gay!"Whoa man , you look stoned!. End Commentary Why

do we need baby pictures of everyone who was popular

that year?

I left off at baby pictures of popular people at my high school.

Basically at that point you find out that you have just wasted sixty-five dollars for

the Homecoming Queen's scrapbook. That is basically what it is Just

Homecoming Queen and The Popular People, A one-night event to raise

awareness of themselves and to make you the person know that you do

matter, just not as much as the preppies ,cheerleaders and jocks. Why? you

ask, Because the person who was behind your yearbook believed that these

kind of people contributed to your high school more by just looking good for the

camera.

Of course there are exceptions to this rule, for example Amy

Mantush , very athletic female who worked hard for everything she has ,there's

no denying that. Definitely a presence of The Lady Cougar Track and Field

Team. Anyone who has seen her perform would agree with that she should try

out for the Olympics. She would definitely standout

She would definitely standout in that field but that's not the

only reason I single her out. She was also a member of the Student

Council ,Future Business Leaders of Tomorrow, and The Key Club. So she is an

intelligent person with a great body to round her out. In short, she's a

supermodel but one you can have an actual converation with. So that make her

one of the few people I wouldn't mind if she clogged every page of my

yearbook.

Okay Rant, get back on the next topic which is The School Events.

Senior Day to start with because it's the first event smacking me in the face

with the young generation doing what they do best, striking a pose for camera in

celebration of four years of excellence. Where do you go from a bunch of white

boys flashing gang which I find kind of ironic since The High School and Career

Center that year were planning on trying to get rid of gangsta influence by

snorting out the members of the Bloods, The Crips, The Dragons,The

Hooligans, and so on and so forth. Basically a waste of fucking space. After the

intermission starring Anyone that made a difference in school that year. In other

words, people like me, you, him, her, and them aren't going to be found here. IF

and this is a big IF we were supposed to be, It would be replaced by a picture

used on the last page.

But the next event I would love to have seen more pictures of the

World War II veterans visiting Hazleton Area High School. These men were

literally in hell battling the enemies to preserve our freedom just like the troops

in Iraq today. It's just an unfortunate copy of copy of copy for War for this

country. The students in US History II and Honors American Government that

year or any year are the luckiest people and should be no doubt grateful to have

met these great soliders. Ineteracting with the soliders gives a better appreciation

for the sacrifices of the Greatest Generation. That event should get alot more

pictures to a least give a better sense of where we were at at this time. We are

in a state of paranoia. I am thinking when people from an outer life unearth our

school a billion years from now and they see this yearbook. They will believe

that the people in this yearbook were the FEW students in that school.

The Prom Fashion Show can I ask one question , WHAT WAS

THE POINT OF THAT? Seriously , what were they doing that for? I don't if

they were raising money for how about ANYTHING. It was nothing more than

a excuse for popular and attractive women to show off dresses they weren't

going to wear to the prom. The Men on the other hand I couldn't care less

unless they were gay. Because we know some gays dress really nice and they

stand out ominously. Should I as an innocent bystander care? NO NO and

HELL NO! But it's been bothering me for close to a year now since I got this

yearbook. If anyone in or out of high school cares to read this, I just want to

at least warn them of what they will see when or if they get theirs.

So moving on to Looking Back which features more people than

the popular ones this time. But I noticed they showed two of the same photos

they used on earlier pages . I don't think Lacy McGowan was with my

graduating class though. You know I have nothing new to say here except that

students at the Career Center got the shaft in terms of the yearbook. That's

the one thing I haven't said yet.

Moving onto the pictures of Juniors,Sophmores, and Freshmen,

which is basically the same thing as senior photos. In honest opinion, I liked some

of my Junior class which is now the graduating class. There were some good

people ,some cunts ,some potiential girlfreinds or boyfriends . One thing during

High School I can say I did not discriminate against anyone because everyone

was at Zero in my mind. The Juniors in my yearbook also got a photo page and

you can tell the Yearbook Whores of the next year. Then there are more

2006789101112 memories in between pages. I am just

drained right now

because I let it out so much so quickly. Mainly

because it's the same critiscism

only added on by one new piece of it. Some of them

looked as if they were in

the woods or at their houses before the fucking prom.

It just comes to a point

where I don't really have to tell that I think the

people behind this yearbook ,I

don't want and am not going to say that they didn't

put enough effort into this

because they obviously did put work into this and I

don't want to take anything

from this but something feels off about this yearbook.

Well you know what I am

done for this chapter of Rage Against The Yearbook®--.

I think one last

chapter of this rant will finally finish this. Next

Chapter will include Fall

Sports ,Student Council/Groups, and Six Men humping a

Couch.( You

know what looking at this now ,It might be two or

three more chapters.)

But Good Night Everyone. Tomorrow's Guests will be a

shit eating duck and

Common Sense with Musical Guest Straylight Run. Good

Night Everyone

That was most amusing. Thank you.

INteresting to read this take on your yearbook. I worked on a few with the kids from our school and it is time consuming, and it appears that the more popular kids get their pictures taken more so have more pictures of themselves in it. I tried to get all groups in somehow, but it is difficult. Wonder how it will be at your school reunions? After being out of school nearly 40 years now, it is interesting to see that many of the more popular students did not make it big, instead many of those who were not all that popular ended up in great jobs, with great families and very happy with their lives. School is just one phase of life, and certainly does not reflect what the rest of your life will be. Think that is up to you to make good choices and do the best you can with whatever you have. As an adult you can determine your fate; as a child, your parents have a lot to do with what happens to you. Interesting read, to say the least.
