Success should never be measured by how much you have, rather by what you bring to another's life to make them feel special. In a day and age where we are barraged with meaningless 'necessities' we often forget that to really live one does not need a porsche, a mansion, money in the bank. The truly successful person is one who can see the priceless valuein friends, family, others, pet companions, wild animals...all matter of life be it large or small. If you perceive yourself successful through these so called inconsequential matters than you have succeeded even though not recognized by others.
Every being is talented in its own way. The caterpillar that comes of age struggling to free itself of its past life and fly off as a butterfly or moth. The animal that learns to survive through necessity of life. The human that learns to love past all fears of not being equal or accepted by others.
We are all the caterpillar. We go through life's seemingless struggles and in the end WE choose our personal success. Thus, we are all a success one way or the other.
I know it seems I speak nonsense. Yet, think back and reflect on successes you have had and you may come to understand where I come from. Did you make your mark at any time? Yes. So did I. I was not always a lost soul saddened by a world that is more mad than I. I loved to create on paper, typewriter (yes, I came around about the dinosaur age). I dreamed, hoped, had many successes that others called failures. I am alive. Not always happy, sad, content or angry. I am like all other beings...human.
I have been through enough experience to fill countless hours of a soap opera or two. Fill a library shelf even. I survived because I KNOW that there is more to life than what I not only have been told, had it beat into me, or experienced first hand. I simply KNOW.
The world and many universes are infinite, we finite. We need to learn to accept ourselves with or without the acceptance of others. If there be any that feel like I do, let me know. I am most curious when I see so much madness in the world and want to believe the sanity still exists.
Now that my rant is over, I would love for people to vote for my youngest brother's first site. Even better, let him know his big sis sent you. He sells his art on all manner of things and I know I will buy a mousepad at least. (Wonder if HE will autograph it somehow...:) ). http://zazzle.com/nemos1271
