You asked; here you are, my friend

    There is a significant difference.

Basically, all human 'belief' (so called) is initially via instillment; that is, you are convinced of it. You are convinced of it due to external stimuli, experiences in your life etc all leading you to the ideation of a particular thought or what you think you know. This is called conviction. Conviction is many times severe, leading you to think you know something, or even more so, that you automatically assume; as basic as things like, say, walking along a footpath. You are convinced that putting one foot in front of the other will help you walk. This is subconscious and thus becomes a clarified conviction, in that the mind has induced itself in to feeling safe that this will actually work and you don't need to be paranoid about it. It won't let you think any other way, and you simply just agree. It could be wrong, but your mind doesn't want you to deliberate over such uneccessary things. This is the unfortunate constraint of human nature.

Superstition is a form of conviction that one is either convinced of to a particularly large degree yet is not quite acceptable amongst the general, social populace, and may be somewhat irrationally founded. Irrational convictions serve little purpose, seemingly. Yet, so do beliefs. But this is where it gets interesting. Note, superstitions can also be things that we are convicted to think out of simple interest, yet we really know its not true - not a true mental commitment, its just play.

A belief, however, I 'believe', is a choice. It is a choice to mentally percieve or align oneself with a particular viewpoint to the exclusion of conviction. It thus becomes a non-constraint (as much as can be achieved), a willed action, and a creation of one's own self identity. You can think what you want for your own safety, or for whatever purpose you may choose. But, in a world of chaos, I see this as a requirement.

Faith is the building of a belief. It is the instillment, the effect. Once a belief has been chosen faith can be built. It is such hope and mental instillment so strong that you can control your own universe, or allow a believed force to control. Thus, you are no longer contained within the constraints of conviction and are a free being. Embrace freedom, through faith. Mental destruction comes through lack of such; no control over the self, its ramblings, and whatever fate awaits it.

You are inevitably trapped without faith.

    Faith is everything.

Superstition is simple convinced mind play, like all other conviction.
