Getting up at 5 am on saturday... and getting back on sunday at 2 am... and all of the hundreds of hours of dedicated practice and rehearsal we put in has paid off!
because guess what...
YEAH! Drumline got 2nd place in our division IN THE STATE! GO US! Our division had 11 competing groups, and our drumline got silver! And we were a point away from gold. We got a score of 87 (the highest score our drumline has ever gotten!) and the group that took 1st had an 88. It was soo cool! Only it was marred by sad news... on our way up we saw a truck overturned, looking as though it had been in a terrible accident. Our drumline instructor recognized the truck as one of the schools competing in the drumline competition. He called the director - a friend of his, and learned that because of that accident three kids belonging to that group are in the hospital - in critical condition, and one of their parents died in the crash. So I'm asking everyone to think good thoughts for these children and their families, and keep them in your prayers. Thanks all!

Wow... congrats to start off about the silver! That's amazing. I love that feeling... all the work and dedication you put in for a 15 minute performance... it pays off with the pride and the cheers, and of course the rewards... hehe.
As for the truck on the way up... HOW Sad! Oh my gosh that is just plain horrible... hate to hear that. Especially on state competiton day... I bet it was harder on them. They're in my thoughts.
