Some claim that science opens up before us the gates to immortality.
After all, we divide the human being, and we divide the human being, and soon enough we find that everything is fixable - that every part we have conceptually found can be replaced.
Our surgeon's knife cuts finer and finer grains. Organs, Cells, Mitochondria. The deeper we go - the more complex, intricate, and systematic we become - the closer we are to realizing that impossible dream of flying: the human being, apart from all externals of gravity, location, or time, omnipotential - a man in space.
That's it. Immortality to conquer death, and in that conquest, also time is destroyed.
The knife cuts finer and finer grains, and ecstatic scientists find their delusions of grandeur turned to cold, bare realities of power - power to conquer; power to dominate; power not to live, but to decide life and death.
In our celebration of godhead, do we forget Jupiter's fear that his fire might destroy the very heavens themselves?
In our celebration of godhead and our worship of science, that harbinger of godhead, do we forget that the potential of life is also the potential of death - that that very knife which cuts out cancer also splits the atom?
Every mountain has its valley; every white its black.
As the mountain peak of science stretches to the very heavens, striving for the infinite of timeless man, so also does its valley descend into the mushroom-cloud fires of hell, striving for the abyss of non-existence.
But then, they are both power.
Were we ever really searching for The Good; The Beautiful; The True?
Whatever happened to Life?
That's it. Immortality to conquer death, and in that conquest, also time is destroyed.

Its true I guess.
This, yeah I started reading thinking this is so ridiculous. I mean, of course we're trying, using science to look deeper into the human being for good, for health, for life. But I mean, thats so not true. Wherever you look you will always find the badside. They must also find death as well as life. This is crazy, it makes me realize whats going on. I'm just imagining all these labcoated men searching for who knows what now...that used to be almost a reasuring image.
