Welcome to Shape Poetry!
For those of you that are not familiar with Shape poetry it is also known as concrete poetry and it is a 'form' of poetry. It's a form in which the writer creates an actual picture through use of their written word which is presented in a shape rather than in stanzas like other forms of poetry are.
In this class I will teach you how to create visual art through both layout and design of your words. We will cover basic shapes as well as touch upon one or two more moderately difficult shapes.
Shape poetry can be fun to write but it can also be difficult at times depending on the shape you have chosen to weave your words into. Please know as you progress with each assignment I will be here to assist you in any way I possibly can. I believe there is no such thing as a dumb or stupid question, so please do not hesitate to ask any that cross your mind. Asking questions, in my opinion, is a large part of learning.
So if you want to try something new and different, or you want to try your hand at being visually creative as well as poetically creative then join me in this class for a geometrical journey of artistic beauty like none other...
