Chat Rules & Complaints


Complaints about the chatterbox are now automated. Once a few users complain about someone, they'll be automatically banned for a few hours.

Make a complaint

  • Someone breaking a rule? Anyone can add a complaint with our new anonymous system. When several people make a complaint about the same user in a 10 minute period, that user will be automatically banned.
  • Our system will record recent chat history and things they've said.
  • Complaints are monitored by moderators, and abuse will result in fines or bans. Moderators can still tell who added a complaint, though the user who was complained against cannot.
  • Thank you for helping us keep the chat a fun place to hang out.
  • The chat is meant to be a lighthearted place, so don't stress out about it too much.

Chat Rules

  1. No profanity. Swear words are filtered by the system, but any sneaking around the filter is not allowed. If it's not spelled funny, and the system doesn't filter it, we probably don't consider it profanity.
  2. No adult topics: sex, cybering, drugs, violence, or lots of alcohol references.
  3. No condoning of illegal behavior. Includes cutting.
  4. No attacking of other members.
  5. No promoting - don't ask people to read your latest work. Asking to trade critiques then using IM is ok.
  6. No spamming, which is typing things over and over.
