My name is Catie. I was born in Allentown, PA. I am not looking to be a great poet and get published or anything, I just spill out what I feel on blank pages. but I am here not only to display my poems, I am also here to learn. I been writing since, atleast, 5th grade. but it has only been free writing. (well poetry writing started with couplets in 5th grade..lol) no prose, no meters, sometimes not even rhyming and I don't have a large vocabulary. (I try to learn new words but they don't seem to stick!) I am open to comment, ideas and constructed criticism. I will most likely consider your comments and I may make changes if i feel necessary; as I believe I am my own worst critic! though some of these poems are very personal and are written exactly how I'd like them to be written.

I think of my writings as a little different, sometimes raw. I don't like to describe thing the same as everyone else. it tends to get boring. I'd rather the reader stumble into a different world. I like personification, metaphors, and imagry (and if you read some of my poems you can see i use a lot of alliteration!) I also like simple, yet powerful poems. Which can be hard to do! And I love haikus.

Im sorry, but I believe poetry doesn't always have to be straight forward. so what if you have to read it a few times to understand it. I am in love with imagery, and I am not going to write like everyone else with poems that state the obvious with a few fancy, big words thrown in. I like uniqueness. Allow yourself to fall into a new world; and interprete a poem any way you want.
