Well, I built me a raft and she’s ready for floatin’
Ol’ Mississippi, she’s callin’ my name
Catfish are jumpin’
That paddle wheel thumpin’
Black water keeps rollin’ on past just the same
Old black water, keep on rollin’
Mississippi moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Old black water, keep on rollin’
Mississippi moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Old black water, keep on rollin’
Mississippi moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Yeah, keep on shinin’ your light
Gonna make everything, pretty mama
Gonna make everything all right
And I ain’t got no worries
‘Cause I ain’t in no hurry at all
Well, if it rains, I don’t care
Don’t make no difference to me
Just take that street car thats goin’ up town
Yeah, I’d like to hear some funky Dixieland
And dance a honky tonk
And I’ll be buyin’ ev’rybody drinks all ‘roun’
Old black water, keep on rollin’
Mississippi moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Old black water, keep on rollin’

About me: I'm an in your face poet philosopher, an' I ain't nuthin' nice, except I do follow da rules of Allpoetry, cause Kevin's my man, see?
And AnnD, she's the Queen of Real, so you better not dis' her, cause I'll be all up in yo' face, cuz.
That day was not just another Monday. Today-- which happens to be Easter Sunday, is not just the start of the rest of my life.
Today is what this day can become.
What I'm reading on the web now:
(The individual's) "fate is shaped in his moment of birth appears.
At this crucial moment his families female protective spirits, the dísir, take action.
One of the dísirs function -and not the least important one- was to assist the woman in labour and help her to deliver her offspring. This particular function has given the dísir a peculiar and important position as agents of destiny.
In their function of agents of destiny the dísir have received a special name: nornor. The nornor measured the life of men and plotted his path of life at the moment of his birth. In the norse literature the nornor are connected to the neutral concept of destiny, skop, which means that they were conceived as the active participant behind the executive one, the fate, of man. It is said that "Nobody escapes the prophecy of the nornor" (norna skop). The conception of the nornors fate-settling actions is realised in one of the poems of The Poetic edda: Helga Hundingsbane. In a visionary stream of images the poem exposes the birth of the prince and the actions of the dísir, unseen by the human eye. " (To read more follow link):
"It was night in the house/ nornor came/ who settled the prince's age/ they named the prince the most famous to be/ and most prominent among princes."

" Me entregó la soberana Reina esta portentísima Imagen, este encanto de los Cielos y la Tierra, y empezó en el cielo una celestial música, entonando la Salve y otros sagrados cánticos; todos los cortesanos del cielo se daban parabienes. La Santísima Trinidad la bendijo, igualmente la Santísima Virgen María y, después, todos los cortesanos del cielo llegaron a adorar a su Reina y Señora en esta soberana y encantadora Madre del Olvido..."

On a sunny summer day in the year of our Lord XXVII anno domine, he was crowned King of Chicago! And I only stood in the shadows and laughed.
The ceremony quietly took place in a lot fenced off by a wire construction fence, on top of a large orange crane, just east of a postal facility South of the Loop just abouts, around the corner from a liquor store on the corner near the Elevated.
We celebrated with a forty ounce of cheap cold beer on a hot summer morning.
And so he became Johnny Tarik “Black Jack” Walker, King of Chicago.
Let it be thus recorded, and all praises due to the Almighty by which all of us live and to Whom we can thank for any blessing big or small.

Dear journal:
I have my court date coming up 4 February. The Public Defender has not contacted me in a week. I am to admit honestly, a bit nervous, but I think, I know, I ponder, I trust in what my father and mother have taught me.
I don't care if and I go to jail, or prison even. I know I will take responsiblity for my actions. I will survive even this.
I have survived starvation, hunger, poverty, loneliness, abuse, threats to kill me, even war.
I will survive this too.
I consider life and I ask myself, where am I going now? I have decided. I know what I must do. It is hard but I will do it before I get locked up.
Now I lay me down to sleep.Like my mother used to say, tomorrow is another day.
