"Once upon a time"...
I was a little girl with a turned up nose and happy eyes, who liked to draw and wanted to work for Mr. Walt Disney when I grew up! Along the way I took a few detours (don't we all) and... Mr. Disney passed into history. I grew from a girl into a woman, with little girls and a boy of my own. I discovered at 8 years old how much I loved Photography with the gift of my first camera from my dad. And at 10 I discovered I loved Art just as much as Photography. I've since found combining my Art and Photography on the Computer is the most fun of all!!
About 2 years ago I went through a particularly hurtful and discouraging time in my life. I found much to my distress I couldn't express my feelings through art as I'd always been able to. The feelings nearly overwhelmed me before they came out (my mind's desperate attempt to cope, I'm sure) in gut-wrenching verse. As soon as I gave myself permission to stop worrying about the 'rules' of poetry, it allowed my mind to be creative with my feelings in a whole new way. I've since written several 'free-form' poems which I'd like to share with you here.
I've always written in one form or another.... but not in a poetic way before. Sometimes I'm surprised at how I'm able to express the depth of my feelings through poetry. Looking forward to learning and improving my work, and the chance to meet and share with others who also enjoy expressing themselves in this unique way. : )
*One of my favorite poems:
i carry your heart with me
by e e cummings
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Ted E Bare on February 14, 2008If you're single, don't be sad.
Cupid's arrows broke and he feels bad.
He and I want you to know it's okay;
To celebrate and to have a Great Valentine's DAY!

Lyndon on September 17, 2006Would you like to host a Winkling contest with me Bud, on a set of topics such as (i) All in green my love went riding; etc. ? I think we would make a fine team!
A Bear Hug ~ not a Bare Hug. Not Ted but Ron.
