I am a 51 year old long haired sandal wearing hippie carpenter, actually a quite good hippie carpenter. I did not finish high-school and started writing poetry and stories seven months ago. It has been quite a challenge my AA-DD gives me a heck of a time trying to concentrate. When I do finally settle down interesting things often come flowing out of my head. If you read something you like or do not please always feel free to comment it can only help me. I don't know how it works for the rest of you but I seldom know what I'm going to write before I start. I sit at the computer and the words just start flowing where it goes from there is anybodies guess.

Like you, my inspiration only happens when I sit at my well-worn keyboard. Sometimes it feels like I don't write poems at all, they just happen!
I am not au fait with the technicalities of poetry, but writing what I do, is for my personal satisfaction.
While I love it being appreciated, and get great pride in winning, or a poem being appreciated, the poetry I write is from my soul......so to quote a line from WB Yeats....
" I......have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet,
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams"
