I can't be defined in a few words, sentences paragraphs, or pages. I am not cocky but, I know, I am beautiful-inside and out. Although I have been through hell I am aware of all the amazing little miracles others forget to see every day. I am not conceited-conceit is a fault. I have many faults, conceit is not one of them. I am simply aware. Things in my life have never been easy-or pleasant, but I would never take any of the pain away. Without the pain in my life I would have never found healing, without the ultimate weaknesses I would have never found strength, without the heartache I would have never recognized true love. Everything that has happened to me has hurt, one way or the other, but it has transformed me into the well-rounded poet, person, woman, and friend that I am today. I am not saying that I enjoyed the pain, only what it taught me. I am a psychology major and I love kids. I write to express myself so that when a hard time hits I can help myself or others who think they are alone. I ADORE music. I sing, dance, and play piano. I find myself alone sometimes but, for some reason I have never truly been lonely. I understand what it feels like I just choose to ignore it becuase I know there are better ways. I love poetry. It helped me so many times when the walls began to close in on me. I can be selfish but at the same time I am extremely giving. I love animals, especially cats and rats. One day I hope to change the world and its not so my name will be in textbooks or remembered forever. I just feel that the cold society we are becoming needs a little warmth if it is ever going to improve. I am a firm believer in the carpe diem theories. Here are a couple of my favorite quotes on the subject:
Yesterday is a canceled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have - so spend it wisely!
The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present!
