      To lose that last thread with reality. To live in your mind, to live for your dreams. To act crazy without a care, to live by your own standards, your own rules, your own world where everything is off the wall and on another level...
      I know what it feels like to go insane, and I've done it before on many occasions and it feels like you're being swallowed up by the vast emptiness of dillusion. Where sounds are too loud- no matter what it is so you wear earmuffs or ear plugs, and you feel like your mind is dissolving so you wear an eye mask filled with a jasmine scent over your nose and mouth to keep you in the same dimension everyone else around you seems to stay in so easily...

    Insanity is being real with yourself. According to the world, anyone who isn't normal is insane. To me, insanity is life without love, which I guess would make me insane. I don't know at this point exactly what insanity is. I have a migraine right now so I'm not a fabulous thinker, but I may post later wih a responce that makes more sense.

    according to the Oxford English Dictionary, Insanity is "  1. The condition of being insane; unsoundness of mind as a consequence of brain-disease; madness, lunacy.  2. Extreme folly or want of sound sense"
    For the most part I agree with the dictionary version. Except when it comes to creative expression. To me, insanity in poetry or art is the inexplicable logic and sense found in a piece of nonsensical fantasy. Its chaotic logic, a thought process that can't be repeated but yet makes sense every time, somehow. It gets you to thinking in directions you didn't realize you could think, coming to conclusions that can't possibly make sense, and do.
    In another way, insanity is what happens during those Moments where your hand thinks for you, and when the piece is finished you look at it and even you, the creator, aren't sure exactly what you've just made. But you know its brilliant, somehow.

    Insanity to me, is yourself being in a dream, you can't feel any emotion, you can't talk right, you can't see right, almost as if your a zombie, another version of insanity to me is when what you want to think and do sometimes just dosn't happen the way you would like, because of chemical imbalances in the brain, insanity is somethin stoppin people to be great, insanity is poetry, is people's insane sides coming out sometimes, that is sometimes, but for people I know, it's always

    Insanity is the antistatus of a humanistic concept. Insanity in it's truest form would constitute a constant and unwavering attention to "reality" and other ineffable concepts. As soon as social values and the opinions of others are incorporated, the person become sane, but a deviation from the mean; i must point out that the mean is used as there is no truly ideal state of mind in any man. However, in the end, our sanity has gotten us nowhere and we still ponder uselessly over material possessions and such like. Perhaps insanity, true insanity, is the answer?

    Insanity is not being able to live with who you are. not knowing how to change it, not being happy nor not being sad. to be alone and to knnow that u are alone, dont want help but needs it. dont want friends but needs them..

    Insanity is the defining point where you have crossed over and become something that isn't you. The teenage girl who sell's her mind, body, and soul for popularity is insane. The man who threw away his dreams on a steady income is insane. Just because you don't meet social standards, that doesn't make you crazy. The man at the post office who snapped and mowed down co-workers lost it years ago when he became a post-man. The man on the corner in rag clothes screaming random lines of verse isn't crazy, he's exactly where he needs to be because he understands the world on a different, deeper level then we could probably ever fathom.

    sanity and insanity exist together in constancy. nothing is ever sane or insane. . . because by definition: insanity is a "different way of thinking" - without different way of thinking there would be no same way of thinking and vise versa.

    therefore, we are all both sane and insane during each moment. we are nothing and we are everything.
