I've used the site for a little while. I have two suggestions:

    1. When you list trohpy winners on a user's home page link the icons to the poems that won. That way we can read a person's poems starting with their best.

    2. There should be some way to talk about a poet without having to talk directly to the poet. For example, every home page could have a link saying something like 'what are people saying about this poet'. If anyone other than the poet was looking at that page they would see the user's name who posted the comment - if the user themselves were looking at the page - they could see the comments but not the names of the people who posted. It would encourage honesty in comments - which I would really want - and I would be happy to not know who said whatever they said as long as I can get honest feedback.

Just some ideas. Great site already so you probably don't need any ideas anyway.

    1. The only problem with that would be you can delete old poems and keep the trophies, plus the trophies don't all show on the page. You'll get a number (27) or something once you've gotten so many.

    2. I actually like that idea...the only problem would be petty arguments would incite nasty comments.

    1. I've found that most paid members have organised their poems into lists of gold, silver, etc. Perhaps making lists an option for free members would be better than linking trophies to poems. Besides the problems that Miss Macabre pointed out, there's the issue of multiple trophies on one poem, and thus a user repeatedly clicking on it. And poems can be removed from contests after they are judged, so what would happen then? Plus, a lot of poets have a lot of trophies. I doubt that it would be easy to adjust the existing system with this feature.

    2. Unfortunately, honest feedback is not valued by all. I've had some nasty comments in response to critiques in the past. Besides, if someone wanted to who said what, they could just make a second account.

I understand the first issue - you're right - not a great idea. Thanks for considering it though.

For the second idea - it was more about being able to talk to others about a person's poetry - without the poet's input - without them being able to know who is commenting. I'm trying to become a better poet, there's no place for me to say 'I like what this person did here - but I hate what they did here' without offending them - I would never want to offend someone but it would be great if I could discuss things with others. But you're right - the 'second account' issue is a problem.

Why would they necessarily be offended? Well, maybe "hate" would be a bad choice of words. You know about word choice surely?

sadly, only you are in charge of manually keeping up with all your trophies won. I have been doing that since I've been an active member.

I remember years ago the trophies actually worked that way. I can't recall why the feature was removed.
