    Emo is not a style people, it's not dressing in black or having flippy hair. It's emotional, hmm does that make sense? EMOtional! I'm not yelling at anyone specifically, I'm just tired of people saying that emo is a style, emo people can even smile OK! Emo is anyone who hurts themselves. doesn't have to be CUTTING, but hurting... and yes people, I am in a pretty bad mood right now because people are telling me that "it's not cutting if the scars go away" thank you.

    i suggest you read it. "emo" does not mean "emotional". it stands for "emotive hardcore" and is a subgenre of hardcore punk. it has nothing to do with style, or emotion, or a bunch of teenagers cutting themselves

    oh no okay i have the same problem as you so it doesnt matter what people think about it just think what you think. to me being emo just means that your emotional and have your own emotional prblems.

      Well, for one, labels are en easy way of categorizing and sorting things, making them easier to discuss and explore. Secondly,people can't really express themselves over an internet forum, at least when it comes to such subtleties as fashion, mannerisms, et al. Labels give a convenient, one-to-a-few word way to describe what oneself is about, at least on the surface.

      But the thing is, why would anyone want to be labeled? it sucks. Like why can't someone wear black, have scars on my wrists and just be another person, not the "emo kid". But i suppose if someone is to label someone else "emo" could have several definitions...
