We've been discussing it for a couple hours in the Pub... yeah, it was a shock, really. Farrah Fawcett died today, too, but that was to be expected, really, but Michael Jackson was a real surprise.

Regardless of his 'tabloid reports', he was a brilliant musician.
    • Ahh Barbara. I am sadden by the death of Ms. Fawcett. She was a beautiful woman who had a slow and painfull end. Her cancer just ate her. Mr. Jackson may have been a brilliant musician, but it ends there. He was a very disturbed human. My gosh, he had a chimp for a companion? What about his children?
    • i heard yesterday- second hand- that htye found a sedative in his system that is comonly used in plastic surgery---so the butler didnt do it- it was the hack plastic surgeon- in the ER- with a scalpel.

Rest In Peace Micheal Jackson a fantastic musician, singer and dancer, a caring and loving father.

    He will be sadly missed.
    • Oh come on was he really. Didn't he dangle one of his kiddies over a balcony? What if he dropped the litle tyke. There are many ppl who want kids and have none. Just why did he bring kids into the world. At least, they will be rich. Maybe disturbed, but rich.

      A caring and loving father??

Those kids can finally see some normality in their lives now.

Jackson was a horrible unsentanced peadofile.

  • Celebrate his life. He touched so many world wide!
    • "Touched so many"... I see what you did there!
      • The reason we arerso affected when 'the famous' pass away; at that very moment fondest memories erupt from our hearts. No we didn't know him personally. All we know is how he touched us! We mourn for his family. They are most bereft.

We start to think on our favorite thing about them...

        Ed McMahon..."Here's Johnny"

        "Charlies Angel" - Farrah...

[sings] "...if you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change!"

        CELEBRATE their lives!
        • I was just remarking on the double meaning in your words. Also, considering all his plastic surgery, the lyrics you've just quoted are pretty funny too.
          • LOL I see what you mean Gio!

I don't think there's a coherent sentence in the english language that can't be considered ambiguous when used in context with MJ

for example: "jack and jill ran up the hill
            while micheal jackson watched them.
jill came down; jack couldn't be found!
then he was the guest of honor on the jerry springer show"

            see what I mean?

I've just heard his death has been attributed to a botched nose job. The coroner says, "blame it on the boogie!".
          • hehehehehe
        • I really like Latoya
      • he was fucked-up in the head, yet he still managed to be the biggest-selling artist of all time...personally, I'm a Prince fan, yet I remember my mum hiring a video recorder for my 13th birthday, as my auntie bought me the Thriller video---we stopped playing spin the bottle to watch that, in awe!
    • I think so regardless of his 'personal' life, Micheal Jackson was a genius in music, and an inspiration to generations

I don't want to forget that.
      • My sentiments exactly, and when I mention his name to my grandchildren his personal life willl not be part of our conversation because I did not know him personally.

        Renee
        • that's the special thing about Micheal Jackson---he's in the hearts of generations, from babies to grannies, his songs touch everyone
        • personally, I think his fame gave him his reputation: ok, he was a bit mental, dangling his baby out of a window, but in terms of the allegations...I suspect he was a victim of 'give us some money, or we're going to spread this story'

Obviously, I can't say for sure, but I can say there's room for that theory; after all, he did set himself up for it, being so publicly naive

  • A brilliant musician, but a tragedy. The man who sold his face.
  • Rex mortuus est, vivat rex!
    • No, that was Elvis.

I was wondering who the next mega-icon n the music biz will be. It seems unlikely that anyone we now know will take up the mantle: not Springsteen or Bono, not Mariah Carey or that Canuck with the hooknose.
  • He will be missed. I know that his music was an insperation to me. Even though his life-style was not one I would chose for myself...still, he touched so many people World-Wide with his music. He lived as a legend, so it's only fair that he's remembered as a legend.

The parents of the kid who he molested took his money to keep quiet. They are as bad as him.

Would you let your 5 year old son sleep a night in bed with him?

      Would you?

Personally I don't believe the claims made against Michael Jackson ... probably another money making racket to claim his money.

What I do know is he was a great musician and I reckon his memory
will live on for ages because he was/ is just that kinda guy.

The innocent don't pay millions to stay out of court. Indeed, the parents of the child in the first, AND, second cases were just as bad to rent him their children, as were the parents that created this monster.
        • Why not? Is there some rule book that only you are familiar with that states that only the guilty are allowed to pay millions? Besides, you forget that there was a trial four years ago, so your 'stay out of court' logic is without merit.
          • It was prior to the case that went to court. The case in which he paid seven figures in hush money kept that one out of court. As I remember it hush money was also employed in the case that did go to trial. That trial was just about as much a joke as the OJ trial.

Cmon, dude even had a freakin' circus in his yard to attract them, testimony was given that he had a history of renting little boys from their so called parents. No need to go all buried head just because he was rich. It's also documented that his own childhood was full of the sort of abuse that turns little monsters into big ones.If he was not rich and famous, he'd have been buried BEHIND the jail. I honestly don't know why the black community stands behind him so, after-all, he spent millions to become thouroghly white.

Why is he the most ridiculed out of the priest and newscasters that have been proven guilty of their charges? why did he have so much surgery on his nose, his dad abused him and kept calling him big nose throughout his childhood, His skin white, well if you have blotches all over your skin and a doctor recommends a procedure that would give him one complexion why not if he could afford it? this guy had a hell of a personal life that i dont really want to know or get into its fuking personal, but the things he did for the world will never be forgotten

That's one way of looking at things. Another way might be to say the surgery was because he didn't like his african features and wanted to transform himself into a male/female being resembling Diana Ross. The color change might have been because he didn't like his african color either.

Wouldn't someone who took such drastic steps to disguise their african heritage be the ultimate racist?

      Think about it.
  • Why don't we give it a rest??

From the looks of it the world will be talking about Mr. M. Jackson for the next 50+ years. As for me, I prefer to see what all these politicans are up to with their various sexual exploits. It is admazing how so many are brought to tears. I believe they cry, because they were caught with their hand in the cookie jar. in all reality we all have a skeletion or two in our closet. As for me, I sometimes dance with mine.
  • Yea Me Again

Even Michael Jackson's sisters were and are a bit off center. Didn't he have a brother or two also? What about them. His MOM has surfaced with his death. What about dear old DAD?

  • Situation, aggravation, everybody allegation.

Do me, sue me, eveybody do me.

    Trepidation, speculation, everybody allegation.

They're throwing me in a class with a bad name.

I'm tired of being the victim of hate.

    Rest In Peace Michael Jackson.

Deepest Sympathy to Family, Friends, and Fans.

  • I really did pay a lot of attention to michael Jackson from the time he was in the jackson 5 til he went out on his own. It is hard to leave your family and start out on your own. But not only did he do well... but became world famous. I loved his music. I didn't always like what he did in his personal life... but to be honest I can say the same about many actors, politicians, and religious people. So don't cast the stone unless you are perfect. We all make mistakes. And remember the courts did find Michael innocent of all charges. So he is legally innocent. Morally, only God can say.

His music did change the world. And for some of us made it a better more enjoyable place.

I grew up with his music. And loved it.

I am sorry the others died too. Farrah Fawcett and Edd M... I hope that they are now up in heaven walking beside God. No pain or suffering.
  • its deaths like his that make me glad I dont watch TV anymore
