    its getting worse and worse in australia the australian $ has nearly dropped by 30cents i cant believe it where going to have a major depression all over this world it could be the brink of disease and famine if the us governement doesnt do something soon guys i say where all kinda well fucked if i may put it lightly

          Yay for captains! No, I don't play. I did for a year or two. Then I got a crappy coach and I ditched. Now I'm nonathletic save for my sometimes weekly biking-photography expeditions.

    The [capitalist] economy, being of fickle nature, goes through cycles of major success and major failure. It ebbs and flows. I'm not surprised the economy is tanking, as it had its peak back in the mid-to-late 90s.

    My point is that it will eventually recover, just as it did after the Great Depression. Stock brokers and investors will eventually regain confidence in the market and it will bounce back. Most of the market's problems can be narrowed down to psychological misgivings.

      Wow. It is like you actually listened in economics class! This is totally what I tell everyone, but I suppose 'its okay, it was expected and it will get better, this happens every decade' doesn't really sell papers.

              And politics are so important and not pointless . . . well a lot of stuff the media covers is pointless, but when it comes down to the economic theory that is decided on in a report or draft legislation that will influence a law or funding decision, it is so not pointless.
