My poems are created from phrases that beat at the inside of my head for a few weeks.
-
Cool.
-
Does it hurt?
-
Wow! I think you are the only one that does that!!
-
No, they're not.
-
-
how did youu come about this particular conclusion?
-
-
I didn't.

-
Alright....

No, they're not. The phrases get stuck in my head and I write them down along with whatever else come to mind, then I cross out the crap and see what I have left, and at some point a poem comes out.
-
-
Right.
-
That is pretty much what I do, too, or at least my poem's centre is what I am actually thinking about that's trapped in there, then I have to construct a dumb poem around it.
-
That happens to me a lot! The bad part is though, I like to base my poem off that phrase --like Cibtastic-- and I can't think of anything else that goes well with it! So there you have it, crappy poems by me with just ONE good phrase in perhaps each of 'em!

I actually do that too. My most recent poem, Superfluous Senses, was based on the last stanza. I wrote everything else around it.
I think if you are used to it and practice it, you can get good at it.
Just takes time, I think.
