That's every candidate I can think of.
-
You seriously put "Ten Thousand Fists" in there? Oh man.

Now that I look at it, there's a lot of songs that shouldn't be on there. Maybe I should make my own list.
I'm going with "One" because it's virtually perfect. Yeah, the bass is almost nonexistent, but it doesn't hurt the song one bit. -
Master's Apprentices- Opeth.
End of story. -
-
I'm working on my own list; I'm sure you won't, but I hope you don't mind that I put "Blackwater Park" as Opeth's candidate (I'm only picking one song from each band on the list).
-
-
I'd agree with that. Master's Apprentices does strange things to me, but Blackwater Park is just one of the greatest things to ever usher forth into the mortal realm.
-
-
Yes. Yes it is.
CATCHING THE FLAKES OF DIIISSSSMMMMMMAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
...
SICK LIIIIAAAAAASSSSONS RAISE THIS MONUMENTALLLLLLL MMMMMMMAAAAAAAARRRRRKKKKK
THE SSSUUUNN SETSSSS FOREVVVVEEEEERRRR OOVVVEEERRRR BLACK-WATERRR PPPPPPPAPAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKK
Hey, gimme some song titles by bands you like that could go on the list. I can think of a lot of the obvious choices, like "Master of Puppets" and "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" and "Paranoid", but there's a shitton of great bands out there I know nothing about. -
-
Hmm, I'm not sure. Most of my favourite songs are purely my opinion and usually don't even fit with the general reception of the album. A couple of my favourites, though, would be:
Soulfly - Frontlines (for it's sheer power and agression. It also has an awesome video, just clips of explosions intersperced with clips of the band)
Korpiklaani - Happy Little Boozer (the ultimate drink-along anthem)
Belphegor - Stigma Diabolicum (just... woah)
Venom - Black Metal (the birth of my favourite sub-genre)
-
-
-
I don't mind. Blackwater Park is gorgeous.
-
-
-
Alright, who picked "Ten Thousand Fists"?
-
-
What, you don't like Ten Thousand Fists?
And btw, when your poll gets however many thousand votes, remember; this was my idea. Though I have no doubt yours will be more accurate. -
-
I do like Ten Thousand Fists. It's a good song. But hardly worthy of being on a list for the greatest metal songs of all time.
-
-
-
I went with "Raining Blood."
-
I think "Child in Time" by Deep Purple should be on there but that's just me. Even though that song is pre-historic metal it still has a killer guitar rift.
I can't argue with the top 5. Pretty accurate in my book. -
It was either a toss up between Paranoid or Iron Man simply because those songs are so important to metal as a genre. My favorite song is Master of Puppets though. Glad to see someone besides Blacknight listens to good metal.

I dunno, KoRn sucks.
-
-
I failed to see that. Freak on a Leash? WTF?!
-
Actually, I agree. I was looking through top 100 lists, and saw it on their. I was trying to be unbiased. The fact that I failed does not seem to have influenced my decision.

I can't decide between Echoes and Fearless
Rick Wright died today
the sound effect man for Pink Floyd
so I'll go with Echoes

It was so hard to choose, they are all awesome songs! I evenually went with Raining Blood by Slayer because it's just an awesome song that was used in South Park also, LOL!
