I have been thinking about trying to get my muse for writing back as I have really slowed down on my production rate.
I blame Xbox
Anyway, I was thinking of hosting a sort of Poetry Club at Books-A-Million with some good friends (With the store's permission of course) And I was just wondering..in opinion.
Should I just invite people I know, like from work, and have them bring friends, or should I try advertising outside as well? -
I blame Xbox
it's like ratings are down so let's have some drama -
I say open it up to everyone.
The more, the better, maybe you'll even meet some interesting people instead of the Xbox. -
This is way i handled it...it was Borders, but not poetry...start small, with people you know and those they invite. this way you all won't be overwhelmed and it allows people to get to know each other and their writing. after a few sessions ( andyou get a good turnout) if you and the group feel the need, then advertise. be as democratic as possible, but as the host you will set the tone and must keep things in hand and on task, these type of situations are prone to disentigrate. my opinion, for what it's worth

i agree, start small. you need to have a feel on the crowd or things won't go well.
