My country has elections at the end of this year (first ones I can vote in! Excitment! Though I was excited last election even if I couldn't vote) and it is so much fun! There are secret conversation tapings, leaks, apologises, insults, conspiracy theories, all the trappings of an election run where both parties don't really want to release their policies. Why can't politics always be filled with entertainment and name calling?
-
Oow. Conspiracies are always fun.
-
-
Hey, my new face finally showed up!
That was quick.
-
-
i love politics
is there something wrong with you?????? -
-
Many things. But I don't count taking an interest in the future of my country as one of them. Apathy is never cool in my opinion, despite current trends in youth culture.
-
-
Apathy is a monster.
-
-
What the heck makes you say that?

filter funds to solar power
-
-
What are filter funds? And when it comes to solar power it is not always the best (cost-effective wise) renewable resources, but it depends where you live. However solar water heating is generally very cost effective but it uses different technology not those cells.
-
-
He means "More funding for solar power."
-
-
I'm skeptical as to the oppurtunity cost, I'm sure more benefit would come from wind in most areas, its cheaper when outcomes is compared but often less appealing to communities.
-
-
Not my field. And I have no frame of reference, not knowing where you are and all.
-
-
Wellington, NZ. One of the best places for wind electricity in the world.

solar panels can be placed on rof tops with out requiring there own space
solar water heating is fine
I'm not sure heenergy can be easily converted to electricity -
-
But photovoltaics are very expensive and less efficient in some areas (depends on your houses light quality) making it a lot less appealling to people who think with their wallet (which is the human race generally).
-
-
18 years ago I looked into photo voltic cells
and I house set up cost $50,000
today, that price is $10,000 -
-
yeah and solar water heating is like $7000 NZ, so even less american. And using your own personal wind power generator can power your whole house and you can sell back to the grid (if your country is cool like the Netherlands, but not my country . . . yet!) for $30 000 NZ now, so in a couple of years that will so affordable. Plus they make them small enough to get round the zoning rules in most areas.
-
-
you can sell back to the grid
I know one can sell back to the grid in
California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and many other states
Selling Power Back to the Grid -
-
Yes, you can sell back to the grid, but do you live in my country? No you don't.

I liked when George Carlin talked about voting and American politics.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u6lCBnRoHQ
Elections in this country have become like American Idol. I'm not interested in voting except for the upcoming election. The only reason I'm going to vote is because I don't want another rich cocksucking republican in office. -
-
sad but true
actually would like to see some sort of vision from the democrat
-
-
I don't like politics.
Polly means many and ticks mean blood sucking creatures. -
I'm actually tired of politics right now. I don't like ANY of the candidates for my country. Obama, McCain, Nader, whoever the Green Party person is... they all will screw us over more.
I guess Obama is the lesser of the evils, but as someone pointed out to my dad, voting for the lesser evil is still voting for evil.
Good thing I'm too young to vote! -
-
My countries candiates are so much better, they actually come to our uni and I've got to talk personally to a heap of them. The benefits of living in a small country I guess.
-
-
That's it! I'm moving to New Zealand!
-
-
Haha thats what I'm saying! I'm just a year to young and couldn't be happier! I don't like any of them either.
