You've recently given us a lot of say over the look and feel of our author pages. I love that we can remove and/or hide our trophies.

I was wondering if we could also have the option of removing the "Guestbook" from our page, especially now since we can't respond ON our page to the comments left. Let's face it, most people don't leave "testimonials" there, and I'd much prefer to have a two-sided conversation in IM verses a one-sided conversation via Guestbook.

I end up deleting any comments left because, like I said, it's usually conversational and can be moved to IM. But, there are a few who recognize I'm just a wee bit OCD and so leave me constant comments to annoy me. lol.

Pweeease, can we have the option to at least "hide" the Guestbook so that other members cannot leave comments?

    Thanks,
    Nik
  • I'm going to go leave a comment to annoy you.
  • Oh, and I DO realize that we can have the option of "approving" comments first, and I'm currently utilizing that option ( so there Scott!), but again... because I'm a wee bit OCD, I'd like to hide the Guestbook all together.

I just keep the comments hidden and view them privately. I also don't like all my business available to the public but I enjoy looking at my "hidden" guestbook and don't actually delete them. IMs get lost in the long run.

In case you don't realize it, all you have to do is not approve or disapprove them. Then they stay in there as a hidden guestbook. I usually write back to people by IM if they leave a message. Sorry, Nicole! I'll never leave you a guest book comment again. I rarely ever do it to anyone. You have to be really special.
    • lol Yeah, I've just hidden them so I can approve or delete them. That way, you're right, I can just view them when I need or want to, but they aren't filling up my author page

So doesn't this do what you want then? If you delete all the existing ones, and never approve new ones, they should not show up? Let me know what I'm not getting here!

    Gold members can hide it.
  • I don't want to remove the guestbook, I like it.
Bit like leaving a calling card... or just reminding someone you are thinking of them..would hate to lose that feature.
    • Yeah - but I want to be able to use it like we used to - replying to comments.
