Anyone who supports soldiers should go to www.bearsmelodies.com and download "The American Spirit" video, "The March on Soldiers" song, and the "Contry, God, & Flag" song. The songs and video are perfect examples of patriotic poetry written and designed by soldiers.

It may show more respect to your country to spell the word correctly.
  • It shows your disrespect when in all likelihood ladymarine made a typo.

I mean no disrespect at all. I support the men and women of the armed forces, and always have. My generation is the only one in my family for six generations which hasn't had a serving member.

However, there are times when fastidiousness is called for, and I think this is one of them.

    Wartime poetry

Have you ever read any of the Oasis selections of WW2 poetry? Some of them are very good. My Grandfather was in the RAF during WW2. My Father was in the Royal Artillery when he did National Service, So a few members of my family have been in the services. It is a sobering thing to think that British troops have been in Afghanistan on & off for two centuries!

This is an international site. Do you have links where people who might want to support the armed forces of other countries might go?

Nations as diverse as Iran, Iceland, Chili and Fiji have armed forces too. They deserve the same respect as American soldiers.
  • I hope you realize that the Iraqi War is illegal by international law
and thus is not open for discussion on allpoetry.

"Despite what anyone thinks on the topic, the group was promoting an illegal substance right down to who smokes what and how much they paid for it and was not acceptable for the site per the site policy."
