Since they charge $12 to enter, I have to ask.... have you ever entered? Have any 'poetry.com' feelings about it? I haven't found anything bad about them on the internet, so that's promising.

it's standard practice to charge an entry fee of anything from $2.00 a poem all the way up to $25.00 for a collection of either poems or short stories for many contests from many reputable journals and university presses, which is why I no longer ever enter them. I did try the Breadloaf one from Middlebury College for a first collection of short stories that was quite pricey, expecially if you include cost of printing the manuscript and the postage. It cured me.

Thanks
I think people are so wary because of poetry.com, that it's ruining reputable publishers.

Yes, I've realized you're very worried about poetry.com by now.
