I self published my first book, and though happy with the results, I would like to avoid the stigma the second time around. Does anyone know of small houses that may consider "emerging" poets who have been published in journals, etc. but wish to publish book-length work?

I only know of small presses in the UK. As far as I am aware they consider US poets too, but of course the cost of shipping may be an issue.
The British Poetry Library have a list of small presses, you could try them? -
Have you tried Duotrope Digest? I know they have a section for novels/collections and there are many small print presses that run contests for chapbooks and such.
Duotrope rocks.

Try the British Poetry Library my friend. They might be able to help you.

Rob, you can google small presses. Many of the smaller presses do not require an agent. Also get a copy of The Poet's Market, it's always helpful. Look for small Publishers in your area as well.
