Self Publishing....

Why is everyone so bloody sniffy about self publishing?

It was good enough for Dickens, Chaucer, Shakespeare and a great many of the leading names in english literature past and present...

Let's be honest with ourselves here; a slim volume of perverse verse is hardly The Gulag Archipeligo or War and Peace; or Harry Potter for that matter, and as such is unlikely to attract either a mass audience or much in the way of profit for a publishing conglomerate... So why not?
