I'm here because I am a poet and enjoy supporting other poets. With all the pleasure poetry brings me I find it also brings along the same amount of pain, fear, and confusion. There is this unexplainable rush I get when I write what I think is a good poem. I often chew the hell out of my fingernails or watch some really bad shows on TV when I am scared to death of a block and writing something awful. I love writing poetry, but sometimes I am my own worst enemy.
ANYWAYZ
that's my poetic life in a nutshell.
I love to keep in contact with people on this site who are kind of on the same boat. But really, I like sharing my poems and talking with anyone. Send me a message anytime about any old thing!

I stumbled across this poem and I absolutely loved it.
The Whole Duty Of A Poem
A poem should be, as our best ever are,
Golden of heart like a rose or a star.
A poem should be, like the brook that you hear
Sing down the mountainside, lovely and clear.
Yet in its music a poem should hold
That which is felt but may never be told.
- Arthur Guiterman

Favorite bands/musicians: DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, Bon Jovi (I'm from Jersey, it's kinda a law), Sarah Maclauchlin (butchered that last name), Norah Jones, Joss Stone, Maroon 5, Alanis, Jewel (although she seems to have disappeared) Avril Lavigne, Enya, I listen to anything but country, this list could go on and on.

Favorite writers/poets: Chopin, Emily Bronte, some Joyce (loved A Portrait of the Artist...) Whitman, most of T.S. Eliot, William Carlos Williams, Ginsberg, Diane DiPrima, Plath, Frost, and many more. Some other less known but amazing poets to check out are Kim Addonizio, Jeffrey McDaniel, Linda Gregg, Olena Kalytiak Davis, Joanna Furhman, and Dorianne Laux.
Hobbies/pleasures: Writing (of course), art, reading, hanging out with friends/family, sleeping, school, shopping, shopping, and more shopping. And believe it or not, playing video games! I just got the Nintendo Wii, it's really cool!
Hates: Hypocrites, Two-faced people, double standards, coconut (can't be anywhere near it), eggplant, heat (as in summer heat), driving.
Loves: Winter and snow, ice cream, rain and thunderstorms, paintings, spaghetti, people who really listen, children, dancing, laughing, sometimes crying, people who truly give a ----, blankets, and my husband.
Quotes I love:
"Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow will die."
"Could I have been anyone other than me?"
