Hey my name is Ashley. I've been writing poetry about 5 yrs I guess. It's a good way to express the feelings that we all hold inside. I have had some pain inside. You can probably tell by reading my poems.
I have mild Cerebral Palsy (c.p.) since birth. I go through alot with that PLUS the normal problems of being a teenager. My cp mainly affects the right side of my body. All my muscles are stiff and I am NEVER able to relax them! My right hand draws up and my right foot turnes in very badly so I have to wear a brace on it to help me walk better. My speech is also a little affected. I have very low self esteem. As I'm out in public, people stare, point, and laugh. I can understand little kids doing this but when it comes to adults, I get VERY upset! And yes, adults have done this too.*
I have been through some hard times in my life but it is God who has brought me through everything. He is everything to me. He is my VERY Best Friend. And should be everyones. I love Him so much and will serve Him for all of my days. He made me special and for this, I'm thankful.
I hope to work with other people who are handicapped in the future. They are such a blessing to me. As I'm around others that have challenges, you can tell the difference in the way I act. I feel so good around them. I'm really looking forward to my future. I'm so thankful for my CP. Without it, I would'nt be who I am today!
