I'm exploring ways to make my creative life less about cranking out endless amounts of poetry, and more about interacting with other writers, so for a while you can expect to see less new works posted and more random acts of kindness
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to my work feel free to have a mooch through any of my poems any feedback is welcomed. I don't have any particular style, but enjoy trying out new forms and entering the more unusual contests, where I can use my sense of humour or see things from a different perspective.
If you read one of my poems and it doesn't tickle your fancy, try another, they are all very different to each other.
Generally I try to look on the bright side whilst waiting for the next disaster to strike!
Dive right in don't be shy
In terms of my AP Family, this 'Tribute' was written for me by my grumpy long lost Great Uncle Horace allpoetry.com/poets/Topaz135
Friends, Poets, Countrymen, lend me your fears,
I come to praise her, not to revile her
With clenchéd teeth and bilious vile
I must, finally, acknowledge her worth
Grudged admiration of mirth given
This tart, with heart, has striven and succeeded
Erotica. Alas, is no stranger or a foe
Witness thus the verity of her words
They lie, like turds, upon my poor tongue
Bitter then, the wave and hard given praise.
Is it better to stay silent and suffer pangs of remorse?
Nay, my soul would flay me
Such kindred spirit would haunt my days
Her words taunt me yet
Can there be ying without yang?
Is darkness then not contrasted by light?
She adopts and fosters changelings
Nightmare brood to defile my future
That a blonde could make me blue
Even her name mocks me!
Such claws that cut deep
Cruel Kat with delicious smile
Eloquence, elucidation and élan
Her span is vast, I cast my vote
For one presumptuous strumpet
One Blondeoverblue
May God have mercy upon my soul
These beautiful words by the hugely talented Jonathan allpoetry.com/poets/Jonathan
S hall I compare her to a summer's day ?
A thousand times more sweet she seems to me !
N or can Time's winds - (which darling buds of May
G usts shake) - unsettle love's eternity.
T oo strained the eye of heaven sometimes seems,
O r sends a storm, or sometimes shines too hot.
K now mortal lifespans melt, each seems like dreams
A s seasons soon decline, returning not !
T hus mortal wings need know no new designs
R estating life when all else, the reverse,
I mprints for Future no such lyric verse -
N umb all save one, - as Time drags down life lines.
A lthough for her no shadow-land of Death -
BLUE Earth spins round her sun, while Man draws breath.
Look into the eyes of a blonde
Cos Brain cells they lack
You’ll be able to see right through
To the empty space at the back
But its just a false assumption
That I’ve got no brain in there
Don’t be fooled by sparkling eyes
And locks of golden hair
My brain isn’t powered
By rusty cogs of steel
By little men with hammers
Or some giant hamster wheel
I’ve dusted all the corners
The cobwebs have all gone
To imply that I am stupid
Would just be plainly wrong
Me (Funnily Enough)
