My name is Tomris. I'm 23 unfortunately and apparently I have started to feel the mid-life crisis. Though, I guess I have felt this uneasiness since I was seventeen. I am actually an optimist person but for some reason whatever I wrote turn into something dark. Maybe there is something wrong with my subconscious. Oh and I am not a native English speaker so if I use something wrong please notify me as I am going to teach kids English and we wouldn't want little kiddies to learn the language wrong due to the incompetence of their teacher now, would we? I spent seven years hating all things poetry. I honestly ran away from any shelf that held anything resembled to a poem. I started to like poem again last year when I discovered Goethe's The Erkling. I adore it. And Ogden Nash's The Sea-Gull is one of the most amazing thing I had the pleasure of reading. I am still getting used to poetry so I lack great deal of knowledge about the forms. So don't expect things like that from me. I don't spend much time or days on a poem. I write it as it goes and try to use rhyme. Well, I guess that's it about me.
THE SEA-GULL
Hark to the whimpers of the sea-gull;
He weeps because he's not an ea-gull.
Suppose you were, you silly sea-gull,
Could you explain it to your she-gull?
(Ogden Nash)
