Equality, Humanity, Society, Huh?
You say you want equality, a greater good for all humanity.
Where are all your rights and freedom of speech?
How do we learn, when the law forbids us to teach?
You put His name on the all might dollar, and in a pledge to a flag,
which we must use and say, yet it's against the law for schools to pray.
Children in our country go without clothes on their backs,
yet we have money to waste on war attacks.
We can't get along with others from another race,
so why are we searching for aliens in outerspace?
It would just be a new way to discriminate.
If there is equality, then why is there rich and poor in our society?
Why are we fighting over stem cell research when most of us don't even go to church?
You can't claim life forms that first day and can feel,
when we don't talk about animal research where the pain is real.
A greater humanity? I doubt it when we can't accept differences, including insanity.
Our society makes you insane, all these rules eating at our brain.
The only time society is equal is when your dead,
in the ground, otherwise equality can't be found.
I don't see anyone standing up for our rights,
all I see is Congress wasting dollars to argue and fight.
Children are abused every time you turn around,
yet the government says we have to call ahead so the abuse is unfound.
A dog or cat gets hit and you're arrested right away, but a toddler wanders off, and the mother claims she was tired that day, and the judge says okay.
In our society the wealthy do no wrong, it's the same old song.
If your poor, you're an alcoholic, if you're wealthy, you're just vacationing at a clinic.
Money doesn't buy happiness, but it does buy your freedom and rights,
They say if you don't like it, change what you see, but how, without a moneytree?
I don't have enough money to pay my bills, let alone fight capitol hill.
We can't change the ways of our government,
unless they give us back the money they have spent.
If you die rich, you get to be on the news,
yet seldom do we hear about the common man who was abandoned and abused.
People try to ease their guilt by creating charities,
but what good are they when the president gets all the monies?
We are to love all the things at all times, yet there is nothing but violence and crimes.
Children can't go out and play, because ther are so many predators looking for prey.
Get out and vote and things will change here, yet the more I vote the more my rights disappear.
Let's face it and it's ture, no matter what you do,
you can't change the government, hell technically we still don't choose the president.
There is nothing left to call a society, and it's sad, I only feel pity.
What have we gone and done?
What have we become?
Humanity, equality, societhy, huh?

I hold your hand next to mine, I hide at the thoughts that there are no words to find.
I only want to show a love and feel your tenderness -
Sometimes it feels as though no one can hear a word I say. It seems as if the walls are closing in around me.

I have grown more everyday, knowing you showed me the way, to joy and love, as gentle as a dove.
