| There is an oddity in heaven
Small, black furry friend Walks amidst the alabaster spirits looking for a cradled hand
| Warm heart beat
Remembered by fingers Sniffing on padded feet The heart remembers
| The beady eyes betwixt the blue
Resonate like innocent butterflies The hamster's warm heart beat is true But it won't be angellic, though it tries
| Raised up on hind feet
He searches the clouds for family Small hands clean his face Whiskers twitching for all to see
| And the spirit of the grizzled tomcat
That ate his Uncle Jeff Smiles, seeking forgiveness; Saint Martha prepares an ambrosial risotto Of parsnip, swede and dandelion
| Ahh how he longs for the sunflowerseeds;
And child who would roll him in his little ball.
| To gayly while the houers away
In loveing grasp Of childs play
| There's an oddity in heaven
Cuddly one has found his end He now walks with the angels Longingy missing my loving hand. |
