| I like to know a bit about people and while speaking with a friend he informed me he actually deep fried his turkey in the house one year. I couldn't stop laughing imagining the mess. So I got to thinking how else does everyone do it? Myself I shoot ole turkey up with Cajun seasonings and garlic and lots of butter... Licking lips here in anticipation. So fill in how you cook your big bird and what other favorites you just have to have. Things that make it a good meal for you and yours. I do want to wish you all A HAPPY THANKSGIVING | |
| Well, the very first thing I do is open up a menu... When the waiter/waitress comes around, I order. :) | |
| I stuff mine, and surround it with regualr and sweet potatoes. I also need to have my ham, with pineapples and cherries on it! Yum! | |
| I stuff the my turkey with homade dressing, i add some collard greens, and sweet potatoe pie. | |
| Someone else cooks mine and I'm so hungry I don't remember its flavors! | |
| I go to someone else's house, and help pull out the thermometer. :D | |
| The turkey is a cute thing. With an ax in the backround hilarious. Good recipe too.I bet the turkey would be delious. | |
| I open up his butt and stick the dressing in and then stick it in the oven until he screams! | |
| Stuff the bird with granny's secret recipe, coat it with a mixture of garlic butter and tyme. and smoke it!! yummmmmyy!!! also you must have cornbread dressing sweet taters and cranberry sauce. | |
| Homemade stuffing - and I always make lots so I can put some under the skin - keeps the turkey nice and moist. (making my mouth water now) | |
| Well believe it or not, after I stuff my bird I get him really drunk (wouldn't want him to feel the fire...lol) I shoot him up with rum and butter. My bird's juicy everytime. | |
| Well I suppose it would depend on what type of Turkey you're talking about. (he-he) Here's my recipe called: "Cooking Turkey’s Goose (so you'll get an idea of what I mean) allpoetry.com/Poem/937710 Great topic, though; take care. ~*Milly:f*~ | |
| I had smoked turkey one year....shouldn't have bought it from Cjeech and Chongs Turkey mart though. Before I could cook it the damn thing ate all the pie! He he No, I cook it nice, slow, with a good amount of heat. I baste it often so it's juices start to flowwww, and when it is nice, tender, juicy, firm, and I am satisfied...I light a cig and ask everyone else if it was good for them too! Ha ha. Sowwy....my labido is outta whack! | |
| I persuade Godfrey Gobble that the oven is a warm desirable residence with central heating. Once through the door, I slam it shut and run away. grin Seriously, I find it less dry if the stuffing (whatever kind) is put between the skin and the meat. Little salt on the skin and there you go. :) (I don't like Turkey, alive or dead. giggle) | |
| Definitely put a thick layer of butter under the skin. Also, cook the turkey breast side down. The juices all flow down to the bottom of the pan and absorb into the breast meat so the turkey isn't so dry. :) Works every time. | |
| My mom uses pineapple with her turkey. It is really good and I think you all should try it some time. |
