   WARNING WARNING, DANGER WILL ROBINSON

THIS PAGE(apparently)HAS DEFENSIVE & DISTURBING THEMES - IF YOU ARE UNDER 18

YOU MAY FIND IT OFFENSIVE

LEAVE NOW

CaptainRedd:

Wow, dont you think some of the photos on your page are defensive and disturbing?

       acari27:

Yes they made me FEEL something

CaptainRedd:

Yeah, well, seeing as this is a public website to AP users, lets just keep our feelings to ourselves. Some of us might like to keep out minds pure and not have to worry about

stumbling upon gross and inappropriate content.

IF YOU ARE OVER 18 AND A TWAT

HOPEFULLY YOU

WILL ALSO BE OFFENDED

AND LEAVE NOW

THIS WARNING TAKES UP VALUABLE SPACE-I COULD HAVE HAD A DISTURBING IMAGE HERE.

NOW,

I apologise now for anything i may say that offends anyone...offense is rarely my intention- when someone says they dont like your stuff it should still be useful- at the very least captainredd used the words defensive and disturbing- this is constructive- and true- i regard myself certainly as defensive, what she sees as disturbing however i perceive as thought provoking art, even if at times it covers defensive/disturbing themes. N onetheless im with Voltaire, she has the right to say it, and im nothing if not objective, so i have adjusted the introduction so stumblers and younger clickers can make the choice whether to scroll down or not

also i swear a lot, but generally this is only at people i like, in fact if im not swearing at you its either because i dont get much out of your poetry or I feel youre too young/or fragile or sensitive to field my completely uneccessary abuse (somewhere i have an inner dial set to 'auto care')- sometimes i wish it wasnt there, other times i think it really needs calibrating ...

so...cautious now...

I DON’T KNOW ABOUT POETRY  BUT I KNOW WHAT I LIKE

I have a love for words, in music, in movies, in stories, in poetry , I just love certain words, they dont have to be complicated or flowery, they dont have to be written as poetry- comment or a dialogue can seem poetic to me, how some words sit next to each other

just makes me

FEEL something :

Here I love You-

by Pablo Neruda

Here I love you.
In the dark pines the wind disentangles itself.
The moon glows like phosphorous on the vagrant waters.
Days, all one kind, go chasing each other.

The snow unfurls in dancing figures.
A silver gull slips down from the west.
Sometimes a sail. High, high stars.
Oh the black cross of a ship.
Alone.

Sometimes I get up early and even my soul is wet.
Far away the sea sounds and resounds.
This is a port.

Here I love you.
Here I love you and the horizon hides you in vain.
I love you still among these cold things.
Sometimes my kisses go on those heavy vessels
that cross the sea towards no arrival.
I see myself forgotten like those old anchors.

The piers sadden when the afternoon moors there.
My life grows tired, hungry to no purpose.
I love what I do not have. You are so far.
My loathing wrestles with the slow twilights.
But night comes and starts to sing to me.

The moon turns its clockwork dream.
The biggest stars look at me with your eyes.
And as I love you, the pines in the wind
want to sing your name with their leaves of wire.

Tommy the Cat

Primus

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6859UlzP7Y

"I remember as though it were a meal ago"

Said Tommy the Cat as he reeled back to clear whatever foreign
Matter may have nestled it's way into His mighty throat.
Many a fat alley rat had met it's demise while staring point
Blank down the cavernous barrel of this awesome prowling machine.
Truly a wonder of nature this urban predator.
Tommy the cat had many a story to tell,
But it was a rare occasion such as this that he did.

She came slidin' down the alleyway like butter drippin' off a hot biscuit.
The aroma, the mean scent, was enough to arouse suspicion in
Even the oldest of Tigers that hung around the hot spot in those days.
The sight was beyond belief. Many a head snapped for double
Even triple, takes as this vivacious feline made her her way into the
Delta of the alleyway where the most virile of the young tabbys were
Known to hang out. They hung in droves. Such a multitude of
Masculinity could only be found in One place... and that was
O'Malley's Alley. The air was thick with cat calls (no pun intended)
But not even a muscle in her neck did twitch as she sauntered up into
The heart of the alley. She knew what she wanted. She was lookin'
For that stud bull, the he cat. And that was me.
Tommy the Cat is my name and I say unto thee...

Say baby do you wanna lay down by me

say baby do you wanna lay down by my side

say baby do you wanna lay down with me

say baby, say baby.

The Second Coming

-WB Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi Troubles my sight:

somewhere in sands of the desert

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it

Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again; but now I know

That twenty centuries of stony sleep

Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Funeral Blues
W. H. Auden

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good .

Overheard on a Salt Marsh

Harold Munroe

Nymph nymph what are your beads?

Green glass goblin. Why do you stare at them?

Give them me

                                       No

Give them me. Give them me.

                                                  No

Then i will howl all night in the reeds

lie in the mud and howl for them

Goblin why do you love them so?

They are better than stars or water

Better than voices of winds that sing,

Better than any mans fair daughter,

Your green glass beads on a silver ring.

Hush i stole them out of the moon.

Give me your beads, i want them.

                                                     No.

I will howl in a deep lagoon

for your green glass beads

I love them so.

Give them me, Give them.

                                                        No.

Inscription at Villers-Bretonneux

by Geoff Page

the dead at Villers Brettonneux

rise gently on a slope towards

the sky. the land is trim-skylines

of ploughed earth and steeples; unfallen

rain still hanging in the air;

confusion smoothed away

and everything put back-the village

too (red brick/white sills) in nineteen

twenty.unchanged since. Headstones

speak a dry consensus. Just one

breaks free: Lives lost. Hearts Broken-

And For What?'. I think of the woman

and those she saddened by insisting-

the Melbourne clerk

who must have let it through.

Bukowski :

Let it enfold you (excerpt)

the whole thing is my favourite bukowski poem

cautiously, I allowed
myself to feel good
at times.
I found moments of
peace in cheap
rooms
just staring at the
knobs of some
dresser
or listening to the
rain in the
dark.
the less I needed
the better I
felt.

Confession (excerpt)

waiting for death
like a cat
that will jump on the
bed

I am so very sorry for
my wife

she will see this
stiff
white
body
shake it once, then
maybe
again

"Hank!"

Hank won't
answer.

it's not my death that
worries me, it's my wife
left with this pile of
nothing.

Wizards (old cartoon movie-funny)

Speak

The Edge of Darkness (Mini Series-J W Kilmer)

I dont really take to the mentality of rich rev heads and Im not sure if  its the men the machines or the music but i gotta say the  Billings and Dakar clips get my inner man -My favourite is the first (3rd in the playlist) Dakar clip,  anyone who can tell me what that music is id appreciate it. Dakar i realise is contentious, still, gets my adrenalin pumping- i lament its passing-i doubt there will be another Dakar...we'll see.Keep your eye out for the hot mullet shot in the first billings hillclimb clip-cant believe that guy makes it in the end

What i truly like about this picture is that its easy to miss the fact that the little girl has a  shotgun. In my opinion she is indeed capable of defending herself, and is possibly directly responsible for the carnage in the mouth of the disturbing but potentially harmless creature/thing  beside her.....

i like this picture because i just get so much out of it, its just such a placid, enjoying the sunny moment kind of picture, but then theres a no robots sign which seems to  indicate that the robot is breaking the rules , and just what does a robot enjoy about sitting on a sunny hillside?...and then theres the dog, which to me is clearly happy-theres no leash visible,  they appear to have a bond,,,love its simplicity

Materialism

The more things you own, the more you are owned by things.

Those people who I most admire are those who have turned away from the cluttered materialism and returned to the beauty of the natural world and objects made by human hands, the texture of wood, the woven basket, the mixing of compost into soil in the back garden, a good soup cooking on the stove, an evening around the table with family and friends.
