ZachPShow poetry

I've been searchin', wonderin', thinkin', lost and lookin' all my life.

I've been wounded, jaded, loved and hated; I've wrestled wrong and right
He was a boy without a father and his mother's miracle.
I've been readin', writin', prayin', fightin'; I guess I would be still.

My name is Zachary Joseph Payne, also known as Zach Estel. I'm a 19 year-old college student from Whittier, California; planning on studying Theatre Arts and Music, with the goal of teaching theatre or English at the high school level. I'm a Christian; planning to get my Doctorate of Divinity (D.D.) or perhaps my Doctorate of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) [because a Ph.D. is just so common ]

I'm a poet by trade; I've been writing since the eighth grade. What started as an emotional release from dark days has now become an art and a passion; a means of helping others as much of myself. I write in both classical and contemporary forms; from the rigid form of the sonnet to the stream-of-consciousness release that prose poetry provides, and many degrees in between. My writing is one of the few things that I can take pride in. Besides poetry, I also write the occasional short story, fanfiction; and I've recently gotten into playwriting.

I strive to love always, to hold strong to Christ, and to be the best person that I can be, despite my depression, mood-swings, and noir thoughts. I try to promote love and understanding, without compromising the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I know that dreams we hold on to, can just fade away
And I know that words can be wasted, with so much to say
And I when I feel helpless there's always a hope that shines through
