It reminds me of a Hayao Miyazaki film because all of his works are incredibly imaginative, humorous, and have some mystical aspects in them as well (My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away). This is a high compliment from me indeed. If you have never watched a Hayao Miyazaki film, I would definitely recommend it. -
