avid shamrock on November 8, 2005hello!! and thank you for the lovely comment!!!
well when i was in 8th grade i had an english teacher who loved everything i put on paper and urged me to enter a few poetry contests..both of which i won and my poem was published in two different books along with hundreds of other young poets. so it really wasn't anything special, just a simple middle school contest in which you would have to have the writing skills of a 3 year old to not be able to win. the poem i entered (i entered the same poem in both contests..creative i kno) is on my page and it's called "the price of truth" if you want to read it. i personally have always preferred to write free-verse, but i never knew it was favored. if yu want, i can get you names of the contests, they probably happen every year. thanks again and keep writing!!
