A beautiful contest entry by Tawk, which won silver.
Embracing her wolf cubs encircles them with love
A star shinning brightly sent from Heaven above
Many life struggles she's endured survived
Will never find a bigger heart
always thankful to be alive
A shoulder to cry on arms open wide
One you can depend on you can always confide
Her den is never full she'll turn no one away
Home is where the heart is
everything will be okay
Wolf Heart came into my life
and blessed me from the start
Showed me a Mother's love
I know we will never part
We may not be of the same blood
a truer bond you will never find
She's the mother I've always dreamed of
so loving, gentle and kind
Wolf Heart your my angel
my Mother through and through
Words could never express how much
I will always love you
I love to be part of the lives of people who love poetry and gather comfort from its use. Gammy's best girl!! Gorgeous, isn't she?

The joy of finding a new friend heals the heart and rejuvenates the spirit. MACHINE is my new friend
and a wonderful, sensitive poet.
I am so glad I found you, dear...

My New Friend
by Machine
To My New Friend
You have warmed my heart,
In a time when I am alone,
I start to smile for a new friend,
Even though you are no where near my home.
Your words have brought light to my dark mind.
I thank you; my new friend,
My guiding light through the darkness entwined,
As time goes on; joyous words we will share.
I care for you my new friend,
We may have only met a minute in this life,
Yet your poems have ended much strife,
I thank you my new friend.
So far away; yet a click so close,
You enjoy my poems too even the gross,
Thank you my new friend,
And God bless you!

This is my daughter, Theresa and her husband Jason. Theirs is a love story to warm the heart. Jason and Theresa are the parnts of my granddaughter, Jasmine. Today I received the most beautiful gift
- this poem that touched my heart deeply.
Jasmine and Theresa and Jason mean so much to me. As I do not see my grandchildren, Jasmine means all the world to me. Love is precious and will be cherished forever. Dec 17, 2007

The gift we received this Christmas
did not come with ribbons or bows
It came in the form of a Mother's
love and continues to grow
This is our second Christmas
as daughter and Mom
She has shown me so much love
and helps me to go on
Never thinking of her self
not selfish in this way
Putting others first
fills up her days
So full of love
and God's amazing grace
She beams with a glow
that adorns her lovely face
We are the ones blessed
with so much love inside
Our Mom WolfHeart fills
us with such never ending pride
Our daughter Jasmine's grandmother
she loves her with all her soul
Many miles between us
but distance in our hearts we will never know
Merry Christmas Mom
we just wanted to say
You are the greatest gift
that God has sent our way
Author notes
Merry Christmas Mom we love you so. You are the greatest gift we have ever known. I hope you like this poem words could never do justice for the love we all feel for you. Thanks for loving us all.

My dear Wolfheart, my mom, and my friend,
You've been there for me
Right from the start
You greeted me with open arms
Even though you didn't know me
You taut me a lot of things
About poetry and some others
But the thing about you
That atracted me to you
...well...
I can name a few
Your caring nature
How I loved it
You took me in
Up under your wing
You personality
How I adore it
It makes me smile
Even if you just write to me
You poems
I'd read them all
But I'm not that good
But I know they are
Those are just a few things
That attracted me to you
So I just wanted to let you know
How much you mean to me
Cause your the best friend and mother
That I could ask for
So I'll close this poem
That's dedicated to you
And only you
I love you
My ap mom

My AP Friend WolfHeart
I dedicate this poem to one I hold so dear.
She was one of the first poets to welcome me here.
I love her writing style it is inspiring in all ways.
I can't wait to read her reviews that have come for days.
She is still a mystery to me although I can't see her face.
I imagine that she grins like a proud mother when she visits my place.
I feel the deepest admiration for a woman of such great strength for God above.
Her poems show pain as well as overwhelming compassionate love.
Wolfie, you are in my prayers tonight.
I trust that all that is darkness will turn to light.
I have sent many up for God to heal you as of late.
Because my dear, I think that you are just great!

Howling at the Moon
Within the Darkness.
You see the Moon.
Instinct takes hold.
Your wolf heart burns inside!
Your internal animal comes alive!
I am your prey.
You have me at bay.
Howling at the Moon is the last sound I hear.
Screams from my voice;
Only a memory.
I look into your eyes and succumb.
My life is over and death has begun.
Lebewohl.
Adieux.
Farewell.

Dedicated to AP Poet: WolfHeart

I have a very special son from AP - he is a delight and writes the sweetest poetry. He is up to 400 poems this year.
This poem is for me and I am so honored and proud.
It is beautiful and I just love it.
WOLFHEART
Wolves howl
Out there somewhere
Long away
From the forest
Heart of gold she has
Enchantments she has
Amazing she is
Rising high
Tender she is

This is another heart touching poem from my daughter, Theresa (Tawk)... please read her other work, it is wonderful.
My heart ached, my heart cried,
for a mother's love to come inside.
Christmas came early this year to Jason, Jasmine and I.
No fancy boxes, ribbons or bows.
It came in the form of a mother's love
sent by the angels above.
An angel so beautiful and real
I knew she was sent to help us deal.
Her love blossoms her love grows.
Her love goes with us wherever we go.
I know now how a mother's love feels,
she listens, she cares,
a love like hers is so rare.
There may be many miles between us,
but that won't stop the love that we share.
We will be there in spirit as our hearts abound in joy!!
We Love you WolfHeart and we always will!

HOW BLESSED I AM WITH MY CHILDREN!!
THIS LOVELY POEM IS BY LADY ATHELIA, MY AP DAUGHTER...
To My Favorite Person, Wolfheart
My dear Wolfheart,
You are kind, passionate and strong.
You dry the flowing tears
and set right what goes wrong.
Like the wolf mother,
you keep your pups close.
Making us all feel special,
spreading love to each other.
The wolf is loyal and true.
You touched so many hearts
and held us together like glue.
What would we do without you.
Your loving grace makes me smile.
Exchanging the keys to our soul,
I can talk to you for miles and miles.
Our two halves make a whole.

I am so proud to share the following poem by my daughter Tawk. She and her family are a joy in my life and I feel so blessed!

My Mom WolfHeart
There is this poet named WolfHeart,
so brave, true, and smart.
She is so special to me,
speaks her mind and her peace.
Always looking out for others,
I am so glad that she is my mother.
Her heart is as big as a crystal ball,
if you need her she will not let you fall.
Life has dealt her so many hardships
she keeps her chin up and goes on.
She is tough, she is strong
I am so lucky that she is my MOM!
Dedicated to WolfHeart my Mom

There are days when my pain and weakness are intolerable. Today was one of those days. My computer had a fit and I had to work on it all day to get it going - exhausted and disheartened. Wanting to sleep, but staying up and doing the necessaries.
Then a bit ago I read the following poem by my daughter Tawk Theresa, who is the joy of life along with her husband and my granddaughter, Jasmine.
I really am a loss for words to explain how astounding this poem is to me.

WolfHeart My Inspiration
by tawk on Oct 27 (Contest-Poem)
My inspiration is one I hope that you know.
She is WolfHeart and she touches lives wherever she goes.
She was sent by God to help me believe.
That I can do anything, that I try to achieve.
A survivor from so many bad things dealt in this life.
A soul I can relate to in my darkest of nights.
A Mom to me in every sense of the word.
Even though she never gave me birth.
She is my Angel sent from God.
To teach and show me how to carry on.
So if you are lucky enough to be touched by her love.
You best thank your lucky stars above!

Guiding Star
by Freeword on Sep 21
You may feel worthless and all alone,
close the curtains and ignore the phone.
Feeling trapped with no way out,
friends become enemies at which you shout.
Now and then you might want to step off,
as you feel your life is stuck in a trough.
Kind words mean nothing and maybe hard to bear,
and you try and try but still don’t care.
You may think you’re different and nobody knows
that you’ve seen it all and know how it goes.
I hear your call and can blatantly see
that you’re feeling lost and yearn to be free.
You asked for a reason to fight for your life
and maybe a way to tackle your strife.
Well before your family, religion too,
consider the gift that’s been given to you.
How special you are, of us all it is true.
you must find love in yourself, its definitely there,
you are unique, with nothing to compare.
Allow positive thought to fill your mind,
please believe in you and you will find.
How beautiful and important you are,
you will be to others that’s lost, a guiding star.

Love and kindness overshadows the pain
Faithful friend and servant to those she sees

Trusting heart and true friend

THE WORLD MOURNS THE LOSS OF STEVE IRWIN, KNOWN AS "THE CROCODILE HUNTER"
The much-loved and respected naturalist was killed in the Barrier Reef, where he was filming a documentary.
A sting-ray that lay hidden in the sand suddenly sent its poisonous barb through Steve's heart. There is video of him pulling it out, and dying.
He has done invaluable work in raising the awareness of the public to animals and their plight. He was head of the Australia Zoo, and drew tourists from all over the world. My dream was to one day be able to see the zoo and Steve, but that dream will be laid to rest, just as Steve will be. But he will live in the hearts and minds of millions.

WHAT IS POETRY? WHERE DOES IT COME FROM? WHAT IS ITS PLACE IN OUR LIFE?
Each of us writes from a different perspective and for a myriad of reasons. I have rhymed since I was able to speak, so I consider my words a God-given gift. Is my responsibility to hone my craft and use it for good. However, I do write dark things, vampire poems and a range of genres. What ever tickles muse is bound to result in a poem! It is my joy to work with new poets in helping them with their work. Pass along the hard-won wisdom. Especially with young people who are searching for a way to make their words mean something.
I offer you a banquet of words from which you may choose any tidbit that appeals, from an angel food cake to chili peppers. I write from my soul.
Life is a journey I have been on for many years and it is amazing how much I have learned just from being alive.

*A wolves Heart
by Dream girl on Jul 28
I have this friend,
That's like no other.
She's there to help me,
In the darkness and the light.
Whenever I feel alone,
She appears right beside me.
She guides me though the darkness,
And brings me back to the light.
She's my friend,
That helps me though.
I will never forget her,
because she's right beside me.
My friend,
The wolf.

Axel Grease
Coaxing
Words from limbo
Into life.
Slipping them from
The pocket of
Your muse, onto
Eager paper.
Lovely linen,
Thick with roses.
Or threaded with
barb-wire.
Altar for the gentle
Blood of visionaries,
Mingled with axle grease
For sturdy wordsmiths
Eager to lay concrete verse
Lasting beyond time.

Dream Time
Evening leaves its lovely kiss goodnight,
the time of dreams is waiting just over there.
Twinkle little stars and write lovely messages
on the sky.
The moon has a tale to tell, it takes up pen
to write of lovers and couples who have
fallen in love under its ethereal light.
The edge of night gives a toothy grin, whistles
through its teeth, and wraps its arms around
itself.
Gleeful, it skitters to fill corners with
shadows.
Shadows, the rich texture of velvet,
dripping secrets that scurry off to hide away.
Hush descends into the trees to make its nest,
finger to its pale black lips, it demands quiet.
Like maidens braiding starlight, trees layer
themselves in crystal jewels they find in forgotten
corners.
Day is chaos - night is beauty drawn on the
world by the hand of the Creator.
Rainy Oregon Days*
A curtain of relentless rain,
the kind that is
found in Oregon,
refuses to relent.
As if guilty for the bone-dry
winter, it makes its
apologies with walls of rain,
edges of rain.
Wet blankets of rain.
It invites itself into homes,
carried by boots and coats
and umbrellas that sweat.
Pools on linoleum floors
bead into a chain.
