It's becoming increasingly clear that writing of any sort is colourless without passion - as is life, it seems. Passion is often skillfully eroded from our souls in miniscule increments... often ripped from us by the razor talons of conformity and the numbing spell of power-lust.
It seems that once these yokes are cast aside, passion engorges our veins with vitality and creativity. May you be smitten by her boundless wealth.

I couldn't distinguish Yeats from Shakespeare - Wordsworth from e.e.cummings. Have no understanding, or knowledge of beat or formal rhythm... Never have read poetry much before A.P. - a bit resistant to do so now, for fear of creative interference... breaching of the shell of originality. Perhaps the time will come.

I write to purge myself of passion build-up - and always feel better inside once I have expelled the concept/emotions that form the words - often read and re-read the poems I have written months and years later - to relive the passion of the time..and inevitably I end up nodding my head to myself and say "yeah.. that's exactly how I felt!"
