I'm Kate and I enjoy writing poetry to get all of my feelings out, mostly because other people don't want to hear of your happiness [when they are down] or your pain [when they are joyful].
I am waiting for that special someone to come and read me through my poetry, a wish that is held in high hopes, though I know deep down that it is a false hope.
I enjoy reading others' works because it gives me an insight to how they think and what is going on inside their head. You never know a person 100% because though they tell you everything, they may mean something totally different. In poetry, you listen to your heart and emotions, things that cannot be hidden.
I am new to coming out, though in this community I feel welcomed and I thank everyone for that. <3
"Sometimes we have to put walls up, not to keep people out but to see who cares enough to break them down."
^ I agree with this one over 100% because everyone has defenses so that people don't get the real them the first time. I believe it is because they need to filter friends from aquaintences and best friends.
"Suicide is mans' way of telling god: 'You can't fire me, I quit!'"
^ This one is pretty funny because in a literal sense it is so true. and it really lightens the mood when talking of suicide.
"I'm too perfect to be conceited."
^ If you are perfect you are not conceited. But in saying this you are conceited, making you not perfect. Which is entirely okay since nothing is perfect anyway.
