She walks in Beauty
SHE walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that 's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light 5
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face; 10
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow, 15
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!
BY George Gordon Byron, Lord Byron. (1788–1824)
What beautiful words written. If only, if only the world saw this poem as true.
You know, if it's one thing I learned from Pirates of the Caribbean, it's that Sea Turtles can get you out of pretty much any predicament. Savvy?
"Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternity."
BY Henry Van Dyke
But oh, do people really know what true love is anymore? Sometimes I fear the answer. I may add more quotes, poems and thoughts on them later.
Times changes. Days pass. Life moves on. I find myself changing everyday. Sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worst. Which way I will permanently fall remains to be seen. Still with my good days and my bad, poetry is my escape from the constant changes and stresses of this world.
