Almost every new poet gravitates around "I". Might I suggest, for the next couple of poetic excursions, write about a lamp post, a throw rug, a box of cereal... anything that strikes your fancy, that is, anything which doesn't have other people in it?! Develop a voice that can describe inorganic things in new and unusual manners, and then, down the road a ways, revert back to writing about people and relationships. You will be a better writer for it. -
