Twist of FaithShow poetry

Quote to live by:

"Life is understood looking backwards but it must be lived forwards." - Soren Kierkegaard

"I am not young enough to know everything" - Oscar Wilde

"Always do what you are afraid to do." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I am a married mother of one who has finally, to the delight of many, grown up! I write poetry to express how I'm feeling at any given moment, most is peaceful, some is angry. And some is utter crap. I won't post that stuff.

My life is full, with a full time job, three cats, a wonderful husband and one teenage daughter. Much has changed, in the last year or so, and most of my poems reflect the journey I have taken. Thanks to a renewed relationship with God, I have come to acknowledge my addictions and found new peace in my life. Doesn't mean the road isn't sometimes (very) rocky, but things are never hopeless. My beloved daughter, of my spirit if not of my body, has come to live with her father and me, thus answering my longest, most urgent prayers. She is, indeed, my muse and the reason I strive to be a better person and role model.

Acknowledgements:
*My husband, the love of my life, GaseousAnomaly.
*The daugher that God has given me, Switchblade Saint.
*Our cats! Also a gift from God.
*My father, who taught me the importance of thrift and following your dreams.
*My mother, from whom I take my gift of creative budgeting, to help my family live happily within our means.
*My grandma. My truest ally in the battle to be myself.
*Dr. Lori. The coolest vet, the coolest boss I've ever had. Love of animals is the truest form of selflesness. I wanna be like Dr. Lori when I grow up!

Father's Eyes
by Amy Grant

I may not be every mother's dream
For her little girl
And my face may not grace the minds
Of everyone in the world.

That's alright
As long as I can have one wish, I pray
When people look inside my life
I want to hear them say

She's got her Father's eyes,
Her Father's eyes.
Eyes that find the good in things
When good is not around.
Eyes that find the source of help
When help just can't be found.
Eyes full of compassion
Feeling every pain,
Knowing what you're going though
And feeling it the same.

Just like my Father's eyes.

This is what I hope my legacy is when I'm gone. God help me in my endeavors.
