I was someone
Who was this woman?
I was someone's daughter
I was someone's sister
But who was I?

I was someone who was born 14 weeks too early
I was someone who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy
I was someone who didn't understand why
I was someone who was angry at God for quite a while

I was someone who was forced to grow up extremely fast
I was someone who spent much of her early life in and out of the hospital
I was someone who struggled with very low self-esteem
I was someone ~ but who?

I was someone who was saved at a very young age
I was someone who went to church
I was someone who heard about God
Who was I?

I was someone who struggled to get through life
I was a victim of circumstance
I was someone torn apart
But who was I?

I was someone with a hole in her life that nothing filled
I was someone who fell into the trap of the occult
I was someone who now was living a double life ~
Going to church just to appease her parents
I was someone who struggled with knowing her sexual identity

I was someone with the faintest whisper in my ear
"You are someone"
I was someone searching for the whisperer
I was someone being led
I was someone arriving
I was someone loved for me, not for anything I did
I was SOMEONE
(But I still didn't know who)

I am someone who matters to God
I am someone He delights in
I am someone He died for, that I may live
I am someone learning to live that life in all its fullness
I am someone made in God's likeness
I am someone being made more like Jesus every day
I AM someone

I am someone who is no longer afraid
I am someone who can be vulnerable with people
I am someone with courage
I am someone who has hopes and dreams
I am someone with perseverance
I AM SOMEONE

I am someone who lives with God
I am someone within whom God lives
I am someone who has given everything up for God
I am someone for whom God gave up everything, and gave it right back to me
I AM ME!
