TransientByNatureShow poetry

I am 22 years old and recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in biochemistry. I have a thousand passions, but writing easily numbers in the top 3. I pride myself on being well grounded and having a understanding of life that sets me apart from most.
I try to be proficient in everything I do. One can never perfect a craft, but as long as he/she tries to learn something new and gain a better understanding of said craft each time they partake in it, perfection will remain an asymptote that he/she is approaching. That is how I try to live my life.
I divide myself among many passions and I try to devote time regularly to each one. By doing so I learn about myself and what I am naturally good at; and by devoting time and effort to those things that I am not naturally predisposed for I find that I am often capable of much more than I initially thought, and the ego boost is definitely worth the effort, for it inspires me to achieve more.

I have many goals; chief among them is to make a name for myself. I want my name and my being to be associated with quality workmanship and quality of character.
I want to compete with the best in at least one field of study and rank among them. As long as I work diligently in this direction I will never feel like I have failed. The goal is the doing, not the trophy - and I remind myself of this often.

But chief above all, I want to learn as much as possible about life and my universe - and I want to die knowing that I put my all into this life and that I didn't waste a minute of it.

  • CelfistJett : About my poem on July 30
Good, that's part of it. I did intend for it to have some-what of a double meaning. I'll save you the trouble of interpreting the poem:

The poem is about obtaining thoughts that are forgotten. Subconsciously there is a realization that it was once apart of memory, and with my cautious approach to obtain it there can only be failure. All of this through the thoughts during insomnia, hence "Growing Tired".

I do write rather cryptically. Read the other poem I wrote and try to figure that one out if you'd like to.
