I was known on this site as DarkCharismatic for years. It isn't a fitting name, anymore. The name came from a dark time in my life. I'm no longer that person. Grotesques, or gargoyles, were carved into and placed on buildings in order to ward of or protect a building from demons and malign spirits. Potentially as terrifying as the spirits themselves, but intended for good as their purpose was to offer safety to those who sought refuge inside.
