I am real and surreal - brain and dust.  

20, male, college student studying English and classics.

How well can you see me?

I'm post-modern, dwelling somewhere between the Dreaming Tree and the Tree of Knowledge, finding life under the Joshua Tree.  I'm jazz , smooth and free-flowing , rhythmic and soothing , erratic and untamed , full and rich and complex . I am art, of great c o l o r and perspective , depth and dimension , spots and lines and dreams. What is it you seek in sound and sight? What is it you seek in thought 

I cannot be described by mere words in your interface-to-face reality.  I could depict myself best I can -

I'm gay. Get over it, it's just who I am. I'm quite open, which is why I don't mind putting it here. It would be a lie to try to paint an image of myself, and leave out a very important aspect. It's like forgetting the toreador in Dali's The Hallucinogenic Toreador. The image might be there, but it's very incomplete.

I'm a nerd, particularly a lit nerd. Yay! =) I also love Stepmania, DDR, LAN parties, etc...I could go on and on and on. So, I'm a gamer, too. I adore RTS games, particularly the classic Starcraft. =) 

In terms of literature, I'm very well read.  I've read about 300 books since my junior year of high school, alone.  I have a great passion for Russian literature, Grecian-Roman literature and English literature, particularly the Romanticism era.  My favorite authors are Dante, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky.  My favorite poets are Eliot, Milton and Williams Carlos Williams.  My "research" for undergraduate work is the psychology of nihilism throughout world cultures and its depiction in literature, and its influence on literary characters, particularly women.  I am also studying 20th century poetry and feminist criticism, as well as suicide in literature.  Yes, that is quite a bit.  I also want to undertake literary translation, translating Spanish dramas into English, and perhaps, at some point in life, translating Milton's beloved Paradise Lost into Spanish.

Farther, I want to study Greek, Latin, Mandarin and Sanskrit, as well as French and German and maybe Russian to a slight degree.

Musically I'm very intuit, eclectic and exposed.  I have quite a library of music (about 20k songs) which encompasses everything from classical/opera/swing to hip-hop/techno/bluegrass/punk.  I listen primarily to English material, although there is some decent American material.   
 
I think a lot. I love philosophy and philosophical conversations. I love questioning meaning and being.  I enjoy cognitive psychology, economics, politics, etc...

All in all, I'm just a 20-year-old male living life in the fast lane, casting grains of sand from my hands into the whimper of life
I'm a realist and idealist. I'm surreal by nature, and introspective by design. I'm just human.
