I have to confess, that until recently, poetry has not been a passion of mine. As a little kid, I had the tendancy to believe that it was stupid, boring, and a waste of time.
Further on in my education, I have since realised that I was right - at least in part. Poetry, like any other form of writing, CAN be stupid. It can be "boring," and it can be "a waste of time."
However, I have also realised that well written poetry is a gift to mankind, a gift that should not always be taken lightly.
Poetry can be powerful. Not only does it have the means to cut people to the heart, but it can also have the strength to motivate people towards action, point out truths, and describe our weaknesses and faults in ways that other forms of communication can't.
Personally, I prefer poems which have meaning to everyday life: poems that are inspirational and challenging, convicting and enlightening. On the lighter side, I also enjoy humorous poetry, but ultimately, I will enjoy almost any poem that is well written, short, sweet, and to the point.
About me.
Well, the name "theCSIgurl" probably says a lot. I do indeed like CSI, but I am also interested in the science as well as the show.
I love the Lord my God (I'm honestly trying my best to do it with all my heart), and my ultimate goal with my writing and my life is to glorify Him.
One day I hope to be a doctor, though, I am not certain what field I shall specialise in. I figure that if this plan fails, I can move on to working with dead people and become a CSI...at least then I wouldn't stand a chance of killing the victims...
Umm...what else. I like to read (Jeffery Archer is amazing!!!), and I also love horseriding, playing my violin and piano, messing around with my science kits (blowing stuff up, lol!), and talking to friends.
I am a complete grammar Nazi, but I still (of course) manage to make enough grammatical mistakes of my own. Feel free to pull me up on my errors, and if you become a target of my "grammar-fire," feel free to moan at me.
