Our Mission Statement
Out of the darkness they came
With gusto and one common thought
So many well meaning bandits
Fear and apprehension ‘twas naught
They sprang from the pages
Of mirth and mystical rhyme
Just to spread cheer and love
From out of the pages of time
The breeze carried their song
To each target of their attack
Yet each was caught by surprise
And was duly taken aback
So come all ye merry poets
Poetic Bandits though we be
We’ll only steal a moment or two
Then give it back whole heartedly
Testimonials Spiritual Nature : First off this is the most active group, I mean active on a daily bases, that I have every been in and I have joined alot of groups looking for this participation level. Finally found it her. We are a proud group of merry bandits who delight hoodwinking our fellow poets, internally and externally. I personally am thrilled and very proud to be a member of such a wonderful group. xxShadowEaterxx : this is one of the best groups on AP. every treats everyone else with respect and everyone loves eachother like family. I think that this has to be the best group that I am in and I am very proud to be a member of such a great group. You are all like family to me although I have only been in this group for a short while. Ontarah : I really appreciate the level of activity in this group. This group far exceeds any other in terms of group participation. In particular the reading list is very active. I was amazed at the number of comments I got on the first poem I added. I also really appreciate how this group reaches out to people in times of need. It seems like the Bandits are constantly on the lookout for people who are down on their luck or have experienced a tragedy. Whether through a surprise hoodwink or a contest they find some way to help and support them. The amount of group dedication and activity inspires a sense of commitment in you. It makes you want to participate. -Ink Artist- : I've been a member of this group, The Poetic Bandits, since the beginning. I am quite proud to be a member of a group that is so active, caring, and supportive. As the weeks and months have passed, many new activities have begun, such as our weekly Hood-winking, our excellent group contests, and most recently, our member spotlight poem of the day. Within each of this activities, the members of this group bring their kind hearts, wonderful natures, and creative spirits alive in celebration of each other and the group.
The owner, officials, and officers donate much time to run this group with excellence. They should all be commended for their efforts of running this large group so smoothly. The Mission Statement of The Poetic Bandits is one of support not only to members, but to each individual on this site. In times of need, the Bandits rally around their fellow members to bring prayers and smiles.
I am honored to be involved with such a fine group of poets. You are all wonderful! Lady-Pegasus : What can I say that has not already been said above. I love the ongoing daily activities, the spirit of the group, to uphold honest and constructive-not-destructive critiques. It is not only an active group, but an interactive one!! I love that it also stretches beyond the group members to brighten the days of other poets on here.
When called upon to do an 'emergency spirit lifting' the group comes through admirably, often going above-and-beyond what is asked for. There is not one bad seed in the group!
It is indeed an honor and priveldge to be a memeber within this wonderful group. I do not like to show favoritism but this is definitely a favorite group of mine! ( not saying where on that list but it is definitely high up there) Frodofan : I joined this group because I got hood-winked by them!

This is truly a group of caring and fun people!
It is active. There's always something going on. Hood-winks, discussions. And their reading list actually works! I get tons of comments by participating in it.
They really have things down. Twinstar : I have been a member of this group since the beginning and I am so proud to be part of this group of amazing poets and great people. I have watched us grow so much and continue to grow in quality and in quanity. We have a fantastic leader "Lilac Thoughts" that is doing a fantastic job of keeping this group in tact. What started out as an idea of the founder of this group (Sharu) is becomming a really big hit and you just never know our famous "Hoodwink" just might go down in History...

I haven't been hoodwinked at all, but to be honest it is just fun to be able to make someone elses day! We are all dedicated and complete hoodwinks and we are loving towards each other. The month or so I have been with this group has not been a waste! Wonderful group full of love and commitment. ♥ to All Bandits! ♥ Frogzter : Love this group for many reasons! Just being a member is something to be proud of because of all the good done for others here. This group will reach out on the drop of a dime to lift someone else's spirits. Frogz~ Unrequited Writer : I'm a relatively new member to this group, and let me start off with saying I love it! There was no moving in period, no down time for em to feel like an active part. Everyone greeted me so warmly, and there is no real hierarchy to the group. everyone is equal. A wonderful group that I am so proud to be a part of. pixxiepoetess : Being a member of this group is one of the best things about belonging to this site. Everyone is so thoughtful and helpful. They are always willing to give comments on the reading list poems and challenge us with great group contests. I'm so happy to be a poetic bandit. Thanks for letting me be a part of this great group! >pixxie< catz : When I first contemplated joining this group a few weeks ago, which I had come across as a moderator when Lilac Thoughts had asked for help with a problem, I figured, no way. I already have so much to do, when would I find time. I asked her what kind of group, what do you guys do, etc. And it all sounded so worthwhile, I wanted to be a part of it, still I was hesitant because I kinda meet myself coming and going on here already... what with my alter ID, Granny Goose, a writing for children class I teach under that ID, moderator duties, etc. And that doesn't even take into consideration my own writing and reading.
Well, needless to say, the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to become a part of this delightful group. We have fun, we help each other and other non-members, we offer encouragement... an overall sincere feeling of comraderie (or however that's spelled )

There's quite a bit involved with the group participation, but it's all great. I'm having such a wonderful time here. And I've already been a target of everyones help and concern when my husband was injured in an auto accident last week, a contest for me with such lovely and comforting poems entered. You all surprised the heck out of me with that and I can't begin to tell you how much it all means to me.
I can say with sincere confidence, The Poetic Bandits is one of, if not THE best groups on allpoetry. Sacrificial Love : I am a fairly new member to The Bandits, but I love it. The group holds me accountable to be active each and every day. We all show each other appreciation for our work and we are constantly interacting with one another. I feel a sense on unity within the Bandits, and I truly love it. rooibos : This is a very active group, and the caring and dedication every group member shows never ceases to leave me with a smile on my face. Entirely understanding, the group brings out the best in everyone, and helps others in any way possible. As a fairly "old" member of the group, as many others, I've seen the group grow and progress, and I'm proud to be a part of it! tawk : Again what can I say that has not already been said. I am so proud to be a member of the Poetic Bandits. They are such a caring and devoted group of fine poets. I joined after being Hood-Winked which I still have not gotten over. It seems when I am at my lowest they are there for me in many ways. I am the lucky one to have found such a wonderful group of people. So this guardian angel is looking out for you. blondone : I remember the day I was Hood-Winked as if it was yesterday, it came at a time in my life when I was barely hanging on I was so depressed and my life was ending I awoke one morning to find I had been Hood-Winked not knowing even what a Hood-Wink was I was so excited and a great light shined for me I remember the old man was saying you better find out what Hood-Winked is before you start thanking them, LOL I look back and how funny is that, since them I've come to know and read some of the best poetry ever I had been a member of AP for almost a year by then and had join two other groups, but by far this is the best most involed group on AP I'm so proud to be a member and just one more small note I would like to take this time to thank all the hard work that Lilic and sharku put into the group this makes it the success that it is... just-an-amateur : You've never been in a group until you've been in the Poetic Bandits. I actually like keeping up with the group more than I like writing sometimes (especially when I'm stuck with writer's block). I go here and feel like I can lose myself in reading other's poetry, commenting on it and just brightening their day. If you truly want to have the best time possible on AP, this is the place for it!

Our Mission Statement
The Poetic Bandits are a group of active members on AllPoetry who are dedicated to improving their skills as a writer as well as helping others to improve. Our focus is not only to grow within our group, but to also help the entire AllPoetry community. We shall not let our own beliefs get in the way when critiquing another's poem and will not bash another poet because their beliefs are not our own. We see writing as an art and treat it likewise. We will be honest yet encouraging when commenting and shall only give constructive criticism, never direct condemnation. Group members treat each other with the same respect and kindness as they would like to receive in return. We will not tolerate unlawfulness inside or outside the group. We will abide by and uphold the rules of AllPoetry written by the administration. We continuously strive to improve our group with new ideas to make it a fun, more interactive group.
