In the early mist
of another day
the sunlight breaks
though my window.

My insane existence
yet continues.
Faces pass me by,
with false salutations
of good will,
tethered with coffee
and ghosts
who ask for smokes
and contributions
to support my demise.

Out from glare of insincerity
that fills the world,
comes a poet with no agenda,
other then to bring joy
and a hope to us all.

I wonder if she knows what it means to me?

Her passing beauty
in words and verse,
beckons the best in me.

Her work of love and literature
far surpass
our common goals
of selfishness.

Her poems speak to us
like a friend who loves us,
a friend we miss so much,
a feeling we thought was gone,
gone with our young idealistic ways
of how we thought the world should be.

Like a cork screw to my heart,
she reminds me
that magic still is within us,
because it comes from within her.

No man would wonder down the cobblestones to search for any treasure once her words were placed in their hearts.

The tired hobo that longs for home,
the manic gypsy that never wanted stay...
she is the angel that they wish would fly close to the ground,
just hear her words.

Night falls now,
I see not her face,
only the words that she has given me.
Think not of possessing her,
for she will never leave you.

Her words like a lullaby
will stay with you as each evening comes.
Her eminence heart will surround you,
her words like a prayer will quell your soul,
and with the new morning,
she will bring the sun
because it is hers to bring.

Welcome to my little world and I hope that you do enjoy your visit here...strange as it may be!

+x NAME: Alesha Brooke

+x MY LIFE: I am a freshman currently attending Liberty University Online- a major in Christian psychology and a minor in Biblical Theology.
I enjoy writing dark style poetry, reading mystery and dark books along with poetry books, researching and studying demonology and serial killers ( don’t worry, I am not a serial killer. Since I am going for psychology, I enjoy studying the mind, remember that!!),photography, psychology.
Currently working in the summer time at Camp Sonrise Mountain as kitchen prep (which means we prepare and serve food to campers. The number ranges each week to 50-120 kids/teenagers/adults.)

My personality also inspires me on how I view things in life. I can be influenced by nature, feelings of the day, opinions…I read a lot of the time as well, and writings from Edgar Alan Poe. Kevin Max, Anne Rice, Shakespeare…to name a few.


+ x RELIGION: I am a firm believer in not believing in some sort of religion. I am a complete believer and follower my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I do not agree with calling myself a Christian, for the fact that everyone has come to the conclusion of being called a Christian. Most persons believes in ‘god’, but they do not believe in Jesus Christ. I will not associate myself with hypocrites that claim to be ‘Christians’. I do not consider myself ‘religious’, because I do not have a religious feeling for Jesus Christ, I have a complete relationship with Him. Also, I would more than willingly die for my faith in Christ.

+x INTERESTS: My Lord and Savior- Jesus Christ, Witnessing to others that people choose to ignore (the 'Gothic', Satanists, atheists...) Writing, Helping those that are hurting, Music, Being with my friends ( my best punk friend in the whole wide world, Avalon) Being a perfectionist, Enjoy being a complete loner, Psychology and Criminal Psychology, Serial Killers, Demons and Angels, Vampires and Monsters, Blood-death- horror related themes, Writing articles and poetry that make people completely uncomfortable, and playing piano, guitar and violin. I think those are all my interest!

+x BOOKS: Ranges anything from biography about serial killers, to fantasy, to detective novels and psychological thrillers. You will not find me some romance chic book.

+xSTUDIES OF INTEREST: Studying about Demonic possession and Angelic happenings, the life and motive of serial killers, and general psychology and what really makes people tick!

+x FEARS: Failing in life, Falling

+x MY FRIENDS: My best friend is my mom...we are very close. I also have another best friend, her name is Avalon- she is amazing and I love having her as my best friend.

+x “INTERESTING FACT ABOUT ME“: I am a red head, which the gene tends to skip every other generation in our family. I have a oval shaped birthmark on my left hip. I am also a A- in blood type, and there are only 15% of that certain blood type in the entire world and I am lucky to be apart of that number! I do have a morbid and strange way of humor (but I honestly don’t know if that is interesting or not). I’m pretty much a boring person! ;o) Some stupid and interesting this about me is that I hate clowns...my best friend is a complete punk (Avalon! I love you! Check out her site http://allpoetry.com/The-punk-princess ) , I can be really spaced and whacked out when I had too many Monster energy drinks(along with singing "Anarchy in the UK” by The Sex Pistols with Avalon ; and I laugh way to much), and my best punkalious friend keeps me laughing with her Tre Cool jokes (By the way...he's from Green Day...just in case you just didn't know that .)

+x MY STYLES OF MUSIC :Many things inspire my poetry writing. Mostly my feelings from music from bands such as:
Megadeth, Alice in Chains, Blind Melon, Jerry Cantrell, Alice Cooper, Stone Temple Pilots, Faith No More, Bad Religion, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Kittie, Pantera, Razorblade, Rob Zombie, Extol, Disciple, Inhale Exhale, Demon Hunter, Living Sacrifice, As I Laying Dying, The Agony Scene, Showbread, The Dreaming, Norma Jean, Kevin Max, UnderOath, Nine Inch Nails, SPooKy KiDs, and a choice of songs from Marilyn Manson. I also like classic rock: The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix,Black Sabbath, Cream, Eric Clapton, John Lennon, Steppenwolf, Ted Nugeunt, Deep Purple...and also Celtic rock/punk: Enter the Haggis, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, and Flatfoot 56. So many bands to name!

There is never a day that goes by that I do not listen to music. It is my way of escaping the day and just being taken away by the beautiful words by my favorite songwriters such as: Kevin Max, Pete Stewart, Mike Patton, Kevin Young, Shannon Hoon, Dave Mustaine, Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, Van Morrison, Trent Reznor,

I am looking forward to meeting new people that have the same emotional feeling towards poetry

"I'm Still Here"

She wanted to see other people
I thought, "well then, look around, they're everywhere"
Said that she was confused...
I thought, "Darling, join the club"
24 years old, mid-life crisis
Nowadays hits you when you're young
I hung up, she called back, I hung up again
The process had already started
At least it happened quick
I swear, I died inside that night
My friend, he called
I didn't mention a thing
The last thing he said was, "be sound"
Sound...
I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit
I just thought those would be such appropriate last words
but I'm still here
And small
So small.. how could this struggle seem so big?
So big...
While the palms in the breeze still blow green
And the waves in the sea still absolute blue
But the horror
Every single thing I see is a reminder of her
Never thought I'd curse the day I met her
And since she's gone and wouldn't hear
Who would care? What good would that do?
But I'm still here
So I imagine in a month...or 12
I'll be somewhere having a drink
Laughing at a stupid joke
Or just another stupid thing
And I can see myself stopping short
Drifting out of the present
Sucked by the undertow and pulled out deep
And there I am, standing
Wet grass and white headstones all in rows
And in the distance there's one, off on its own
So I stop, kneel
My new home...
And I picture a sober awakening, a re-entry into this little bar scene
Sip my drink til the ice hits my lip
Order another round
...And that's it for now
Sorry...
